Big brother, your reasoning itself isn't a problem, but using it for a job interview might not be quite appropriate.
At a time like this, shouldn't you be saying things like "Your Day Care is well-suited for my growth," "I want to grow together with your Day Care," "I feel the positive working atmosphere here," and so on?
"Hehe, I see."
Yuga awkwardly chuckled.
After asking a few more questions to Lin Mi, Yuga turned his attention to Misaki.
"I believe you're well aware of your disadvantages compared to others. What qualities do you think you possess that make me choose you over the other two more outstanding candidates?"
Yuga's question was sharp, and it could be said that he hit a sore spot with Misaki.
After pondering for a moment, Misaki solemnly replied, "I understand that compared to typical breeders, I don't have many advantages. I started late, have little experience, and hold a lower rank. These are my shortcomings. However, I have a passionate heart for this profession.
I used to be a Trainer and dedicated a long time to it. But because of this, I realized how difficult it is to find a career that suits me and that I'm passionate about.
Therefore, I need an opportunity!"
As Misaki spoke, her tone was resolute, and her expression serious, as if she were explaining something very solemn.
Although Misaki's words might sound grandiose, Yuga indeed saw enthusiasm and sincerity in her eyes.
Even Lin Mi, who was usually straightforward and cheerful, seemed shocked by the determination and passion Misaki displayed. While he also liked the breeder profession, he had never thought about its meaning as a career itself.
On the other hand, suddenly, Sugisaki disdainfully said, "Heh, passion? What's that supposed to be? Can passion make you stronger? Can it improve your skills? What a joke!"
Sugisaki's contemptuous words made Misaki, who was usually easygoing and cheerful, blush for the rare occasion. Even Lin Mi seemed a bit angered by his dismissive attitude.
"Mr. Sugisaki, please show some respect to others." Yuga, feeling uncomfortable with Sugisaki's words, reminded him.
Yuga's words made Sugisaki awkwardly close his mouth.
Yuga: "Misaki, you mentioned that you're skilled in making Pokéblock. Can you demonstrate it for us?"
"Right now?" Misaki asked.
"Yes." Yuga nodded.
"Alright. But where are the Berries and the tools needed for making them?"
"Don't worry about that."
Yuga immediately arranged for Audino, who brought the required Berries and Berry Blender over.
Thus, Yuga and the other two witnessed an eye-opening demonstration.
Misaki moved seamlessly from processing the Berries to operating the Berry Blender. The entire process was fluid and smooth. When she finally produced the Pokéblock, Yuga estimated that she used less than one-sixth of his time and less than one-fourth of Audino's time.
Although they used different recipes, causing time variations, the difference wasn't significant.
If you thought it was merely about speed, you'd be entirely mistaken. The quality of the Pokéblock Misaki produced was impeccable.
After observing Misaki's demonstration, Yuga admired her. Indeed, she truly was skilled in making Pokéblock. Such proficiency, if placed in Yuga's past life, would undoubtedly be eligible for a Guinness World Record.
Even Lin Mi, who had finished observing, was in awe. Only Sugisaki continued to wear a disdainful expression while looking at Misaki, as if he couldn't accept her skills.
After watching Misaki create the Pokéblock, Yuga separately asked them more detailed questions about their backgrounds. Although he had already given up on Sugisaki, Yuga still interviewed him, as he wanted to appear as fair as possible to avoid raising suspicions.
After much contemplation, in the end, Yuga chose Misaki.
Sugisaki, needless to say, Yuga had no intention of selecting him. His arrogant personality and questionable character made him even less likely to be chosen.
Lin Mi was indeed outstanding and presented well, but his expertise didn't align with Yuga's requirements.
While Misaki did have several shortcomings, she possessed the skills that Yuga needed. Moreover, Yuga wanted to give her a chance.
Misaki had mentioned how her less impressive background led to numerous rejections from other Day Cares. Yuga genuinely felt her passion for the breeder profession and was willing to gamble on her future.
After all, adding a finishing touch is easy, but giving help in a time of need is much more challenging.
"Is that really true?"
Misaki could hardly believe her ears. She had actually been accepted, and this was under the condition that there were candidates more outstanding than herself.
She couldn't even recall how many times she had been rejected; the feeling of wanting to burst into tears was overwhelming.
"Of course it's true." Yuga smiled and extended his right hand to Misaki, "Welcome to YuYu Day Care."
"Thank you, thank you, thank you."
Misaki repeated her thanks three times and excitedly shook Yuga's outstretched hand, her eyes slightly moist.
Upon hearing the news announced by Yuga, Lin Mi was relatively calm. He could understand the reasons behind Yuga's choice of Misaki. However, Sugisaki had objections.
"Why?" Not comprehending, Sugisaki's tone unintentionally elevated.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Sugisaki, this decision was made considering the practical situation of our Day Care."
Although Yuga didn't particularly like this person named Sugisaki, he still politely explained to him.
"Practical situation? What practical situation! I wouldn't say anything if you had chosen that Lin Mi, but what's the meaning of choosing this little girl who knows nothing? Do you look down on me?"
Sugisaki's voice grew louder, and his tone became increasingly sharp, almost on the verge of shouting.
"Mr. Sugisaki, I ask you to please calm down," Yuga's expression turned cold at this point.
"Calm down? What do I have to calm down for! Do you even know who I am? I've worked at the Midnight Day Care, the Midnight Day Care! Do you even know what kind of place the Midnight Day Care is? I've condescended to come to this rundown place of yours, and you not only fail to thank me, but you also reject me!"
Upon hearing Sugisaki's words, Yuga felt utterly bewildered by his outburst.
"Mr. Sugisaki, I am aware of the Midnight Day Care. However, if you feel that the Midnight Day Care is a better fit for your status, you are welcome to go back there."
At this point, Yuga's tone ceased to be courteous. His words dripped with sarcasm. While Yuga didn't know how Sugisaki had left the Midnight Day Care, given his current demeanor, it was unlikely to have been a pleasant experience.
In truth, Yuga's guess wasn't entirely off the mark.
