บท 1: Yuga

When Qi Xu regained consciousness, he felt a splitting headache and complete weakness throughout his body.

With great effort, he managed to barely open his eyes.

The ceiling was pale, the room empty; Qi Xu felt disoriented, realizing this wasn't his room.

While his family wasn't wealthy, his room wasn't this bare.

Just as Qi Xu was attempting to get up, the room door suddenly swung open.

"Oh my goodness, Little Yuga, you've finally awakened," a voice exclaimed.

Upon hearing the name "Little Yuga," countless memories flooded Qi Xu's mind, causing his head to throb.

Amidst this intense pain, Qi Xu fainted once again.

Qi Xu had no idea how long he'd slept, but it felt like a lengthy dream.

A boy named Shimizu Yuga kept appearing in his dreams.

This boy had a happy family, parents who loved him, and a comfortable life.

This life continued until he turned sixteen.

His family operated a daycare business, and his parents regularly went to procure goods.

These goods were Pokémon eggs.

During their most recent procurement, Qi Xu's parents met with a serious accident en route and both passed away.

Overwhelmed by grief, he couldn't cope and decided to end his life by jumping into a river.

Qi Xu's dream ended there.

Upon waking again, he realized those memories weren't a dream; they were memories of this body.

He had transmigrated, and he'd transmigrated into the world of Pokémon.

Qi Xu struggled to sit up, noticing a person by his bedside—a middle-aged woman.

His movements seemed to disturb her, and she drowsily opened her eyes.

Seeing Qi Xu sit up from the bed, she exclaimed with delight, "Little Yuga, you're awake! Thank heavens! If something had happened to you, how could I face your parents?"

As she spoke, the middle-aged woman wiped away tears.

Qi Xu, or rather Shimizu Yuga now, recognized the identity of this middle-aged woman from his memories.

She was Yuga's father's younger sister, his aunt, Hisako.

Thinking that Yuga hadn't fully recovered from the grief of losing his parents, Hisako continued, "Little Yuga, are you hungry? I've made some porridge for you."

Hisako's words reminded him of his hunger, and his stomach rumbled involuntarily.

Hearing the noise from his stomach, Hisako couldn't help but laugh.

Yuga's face turned bright red in embarrassment.

After wiping her tears, Hisako brought a bowl of congee from the nearby table and handed it to Yuga.

"Here, eat up. It's just the right temperature."

At this moment, Yuga didn't know what to say. He didn't know how to interact with Hisako.

Facing this middle-aged woman who cared for him, he felt both familiar and unfamiliar.

Hisako watched as Yuga silently finished the congee, saying, "You've just woken up, and your body is still weak. Rest well, don't think about anything else, and promise me you won't do anything foolish again, alright?"

Yuga obediently nodded, then lay back down.

"Rest well. Tonight, I'll bring your cousin to see you."

Hisako tucked the blanket around Yuga, took the empty bowl, and left the room.

Watching Hisako leave, Yuga stared blankly at the ceiling.

This body was sixteen years old now, just reaching adulthood by this world's standards.

His parents had passed away a week ago.

At that time, Yuga was overwhelmed with grief, in a daze. It was Hisako's family that took care of everything, even the funeral arrangements.

Hisako was already married to an ordinary office worker, and they had an adorable daughter. Their life was happy.

They were the only family Yuga had left.

Yuga's suicide attempt had been just yesterday.

His relationship with his parents had been wonderful. He loved them dearly, and they loved him back.

A once happy and complete family had been shattered by a tragic car accident.

Yuga, who had been in a constant daze, jumped into the river yesterday while sitting by the yard, unable to cope with his emotions.

Fortunately, a neighbor, separated by the yard, noticed Yuga struggling in the water and rescued him.

Yuga thought to himself, "The reflexes of this original body must be quite resilient. It took a whole week after my parents' passed awat to contemplate suicide."

Yuga couldn't believe how his life had taken such a drastic turn. He had lived an ordinary life for 28 years, and now he found himself here, in this world.

He had transmigrated because he fell asleep at his desk, exhausted from work. He had crossed over while in that half-asleep, half-awake state.

From the original host's memories, Yuga knew that he lived in the Verdanturf Town in the Hoenn Region.

The Hoenn Region was known for its many volcanoes and a relatively hot climate.

Verdanturf Town was situated within the Hoenn Region, protected from volcanic ash due to its location deep within the region.

It was a beautiful town with clean air, making it an excellent place for people with weakened health to recuperate.

Although it couldn't compare to the larger cities in the Hoenn Region, Verdanturf Town was still prosperous.

However, the original host had never left Verdanturd Town during his entire life, so he was unfamiliar with the world beyond.

As Yuga pondered all this, he felt the exhaustion creeping in. Before long, he fell asleep on the bed.

In the evening, Hisako indeed returned with Yuga's young cousin.

Yuga's cousin's name was Luna, a lively and adorable six-year-old girl.

It was evident that she had a good relationship with her cousin, as she immediately started talking to Yuga upon her arrival.

However, Yuga's weakened body couldn't engage in much conversation, and he soon felt drowsy.

Hisako prepared some food for Yuga, and then she spirited her energetic and clingy daughter away.

Before leaving, Hisako told Yuga that she would come to see him again tomorrow.

Even though Hisako's family wasn't next-door neighbors with Yuga's family, they lived very close by, just a few steps away.
