บท 16: A.Hcite

After the little drama with Phineas, I saw Mr Rude walking in with Jude and Alex right behind him. I hissed and looked away, knowing fully well they were coming here to make fun of me.

"School maid or should I say Ghost of Auroral High," he jeered once he was close enough.

Alex and Jude burst out laughing and I rolled my eyes at them.

"My name is Sydney Raymond. Don't you dare called me that," I said with a displeased pout.

Mr Rude chuckled. He came closer to me and whispered, "you called me Mr Rude so I get to call you whatever I like."

I frowned. Why was is he whispering? Except... Alex and Jude didn't know about his little nickname. I chuckled devilishly in my mind.

"Have you seen this yet?" Mr Rude asked raising his phone to my face.

My eyes widened as I speedily dropped the spatula and clutched unto his hand holding the phone. On the screen was a giphy of me when I was covered in flour with the bold words Ghost of Auroral High dancing above it.

Mr Rude tried pulling his hand away but I held it tightly, I wasn't done yet. I scrolled up to see more ridiculous memes of me. I felt like crying. When did they do this?

"Hey! School maid, let go of my phone," he forcefully pulled his hand away.

"Who did this?" I asked in bewilderment.

He chuckled. "You should be glad you are trending in the school's student group chat."

"The school what!" I said in a shrill voice and everyone turned to look at me.

"It's-a-group-chat-for-every-student-in-this-school," Jude mouthed slowly as if I was dumb and he was trying to make me understand in simple english.

The three of them broke into a gratified laugh as they did a funny handshake. My face turned ashen and at that moment, I heard the click of a camera.

I turned angrily at Mr Rude. "What did you do that for?"

"You should see your face. You truly look like the ghost of Auroral high right now," he mocked looking at the picture.

"Delete it," I ordered.

He smirked and showed the picture to Jude and Alex. They sniggered as they look at the picture and then back at me and they repeated the process. This is so embarrassing!

"Hey! I said delete it," I barked grabbing back my spatula and pointing it at them threateningly.

Just then, Ms. Polly walked over. Her tall chubby body towering over me as she stood in akimbo.

"Miss Raymond are you serving your punishment or do you think you are here to have fun?" She yelled.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Polly." I apologized.

Ms. Polly eyed me for a while before leaving. I turned back to the three airheads and quickly potioned out their food before serving them.

Just as I handed Mr Rude his own meal, I said, "enjoy your meal, Mr Rude."

His eyes widened and he almost spewed blood. That expression was so priceless.

"Dude, what did she just call you?" Alex asked in amusement.

"Nothing... let's go," Mr Rude said and hurriedly pushed them to get moving.

He can't just make fun of me and think he can leave just like that, no way!

"Ah! You guys don't know MR RUDE is his special nickname given by me?" I raised my voice a little, adding more fuel to the already blazing fire.

"Mr... Rude..." Jude said as he burst out laughing holding unto his stomach.

Mr Rude glared at me before stomping away. His friends quickly followed as they continued teasing him.

I continued working without anymore unwanted distractions except for the sarcastic comment now and then. Mr Andrew actually came by later to check on me and once he saw I was painstakingly serving my punishment, he nodded and left.

By the time lunch break was over, I realized that those serving in the cafeteria hasn't been having it easy. All my body ached most especially, my leg which had been tirelessly moving about all day.

Lily walked over to meet me while I was stretching out my tired bones.

"Are you okay, Syd?" She asked.

"I will be once I sit down and rest my numb legs," I said wearily.

"Sorry about that. We should quickly get to class then."

I nodded. As we made our way to class, Lily brought out her phone.

"There is something I'm about show you but I think you will likely get offended," She spoke in an unsure voice.

"I have already seen it," I said calmly.

"Wait... what?"

"Mr Rude used it to taunt me in the cafeteria."

"Oh!" Her mouth formed a tiny 'o'.

"Is there a way for it to be deleted?" I asked with an hopeful glint in my eyes.

"I'm afraid there isn't. Rex is the admin."

My hope died down immediately she said that.

"How about joining the group?"

"To join A.Hcite you will have to go through Rex since he is the only admin."

"Is that what the group is called?"

"Hmmm," she affirmed.

We continued walking on in silence until Lily spoke again.

"Guess what Syd?"

"I can't guess. What is it?"

"Mabel was suspended for three weeks," Lily said dropping the bomb.

"What! Why?"

"I heard she broke some expensive laboratory equipment out of anger. Mabel's parent wanted to pay for the damages but Ms. Sophie refused. She claimed it as a disciplinary action for other students who tries to destroy school property just to vent their anger."

My mouth hung open in disbelief.

"I'm guessing Rex has a hand in it because some students saw them together in the lab right before the incident happened," she whispered.

"I don't get why Rex would go through that length to make his mother suspend her?"

I don't understand it. I felt as if something was missing. Did they have a little quibble or was it something else?

"I don't know. Mabel did what he wanted. She played dirty pranks on you but Rex still got her out of his sight. I don't get it," Lily said in puzzlement.

Exactly! Even I don't get it. Mabel's suspension made me realize Mr rude was capable of anything.
