"Doctor, do you want to take a break?" Stryker asked with concern as he looked at Trisk.
"No! I'm fine!" Trisk dismissed Stryker's worry with a casual push, but the force behind it was unexpectedly powerful. Stryker, a physically robust individual, staggered back and collided with the wall.
"Doctor, you..." Stryker was visibly shocked.
Is this still Dr. Trisk? How could he possess such strength?
"Since you're okay, then continue telling us. What is this new enemy we're about to face?" A representative from the conference inquired.
Trisk hesitated. Now a Mutant himself, should he persist in promoting the "Mutant Threat Theory" and risk endangering himself? No, he thought. It can't be like this.
The smarter the brain, the more one fears death. Trisk quickly weighed the consequences of pushing the "Mutant Threat Theory."
"What's the enemy?" Delegates leaned in with curiosity.
"The new enemy is..." Trisk paused, then swiftly concocted an alternative narrative. "It's a mutated virus! Yes, a mutated virus! We know that viruses develop resistance to drugs. The more antibiotics we use, the more the virus mutates. If we continue this abuse of antibiotics, we'll face countless mutated viruses in the future!"
With a quick shift of his thoughts, Trisk found a reason for diversion.
"Cut..."
"Mutated virus? Are you suggesting we should completely ban the newly invented 'penicillin'? Dr. Trisk, if wounded soldiers on the Vietnam War battlefield hear your words, they'd tear you apart!"
"Hahahaha! Doctor, your sense of humor is truly something!" The delegates laughed, dismissing the topic. They folded their documents, rose from their seats, and exited the conference hall, paying little attention to Dr. Trisk.
"Doctor, didn't we come here to promote the 'Sentry Project'? We're an arms company. What does a virus have to do with us?" Stryker, puzzled, looked at Dr. Trisk, unsure of the direction he was taking.
"Let go of the 'Sentry Project'! It's a flawed idea," Trisk waved dismissively. "The grand mutation is our future research direction."
"Mutated? A mutated virus? Doctor, are you thinking of a career change? Planning to dive into the pharmaceutical industry? We are a defense contractor! Arms are our research focus."
Stryker appeared dumbfounded.
"Trust me, Stryker, mutation is the future!"
As Trisk felt the immense power surging through his body, he smiled inwardly, realizing that being a Mutant might just be a good thing after all.
At that moment, the conference hall's doors burst open.
"Trisk, your reckoning day has come!"
An enraged Magneto roared into the room, a powerful magnetic storm enveloping Eric's body. All metal objects in the hall shuddered violently.
"Stop! Eric, stop!"
Charles, accompanied by Hank and Logan, snarled as they pursued.
"Charles, you can't halt me! Trisk must meet his end today!"
The formidable magnetic storm roared, and numerous metal objects in the conference hall levitated, transforming into razor-sharp blades thrusting toward Trisk.
Trisk swiftly plunged both hands into the ground, almost instantly vanishing beneath the surface.
The blades Eric manipulated all stabbed into the ground failing to harm Trisk, who had safely retreated below.
"Wait, you've got it all wrong!" Trisk emerged from the ground and hastily shouted.
"Eh? What's going on here?"
Seeing how effortlessly Trisk dug a substantial hole, Eric stood there, utterly astonished.
"Trisk is a Mutant? Trisk... unexpectedly... actually... a Mutant?"
"Asshole! Trisk! You asshole!" Eric's anger erupted as he pointed accusatorily at Trisk. "Trisk, you're obviously a Mutant too. Why kill our own? Why?"
"Trisk is a Mutant? How is that possible?" Wolverine couldn't comprehend it.
The Trisk he knew wasn't a Mutant. What is happening? Is this still the "past" he knows, or has he ended up in the wrong place?
The Mystique he knew, Charles without a wheelchair, and Mutant "Doctor Dwarf" Trisk—none of these elements existed in the future he remembers.
"Shadowcat, where did you send me? This isn't where I'm supposed to be! You sent me to the wrong place!" Wolverine lamented internally.
"This... what's happening? Doctor, what's the situation? Weren't we supposed to fight against Mutants together to protect humans? You're such a great leader, unexpectedly you too are a..." Stryker was dumbfounded.
His idol had crumbled, his life beliefs shattered, leaving him soulless and uncertain about the future.
