บท 27: CHAPTER 27
Shen Tian led the three men to the back of the house. A couple of distance away, the three saw a mountain of sand piled up. On the opposite side, quite a distance away, they also saw an area that looked like an excavation site.
"My task for now is to move 1000 kilograms each of sand, pebbles, and soil from that area to this area.", Shen Tian pointed to the two areas that he was working at. "Unfortunately, I was only able to complete the requirement for sand. I still needed to move pebbles and soil. The worst part is that I only have until tomorrow to move everything. Otherwise, all my efforts will be in vain."
Shen Tian sniffed sadly again. Just imagining the past days labor going up in smoke made him tired, upset, and frustrated all at the same time.
"If you all can help me with this task, I'll be sure to cook a feast for you while you stay here.", Shen Tian looked at the three men with hope.
With three people more to do the task, there's much hope that he can still make it within the five days deadline that the system has set.
"I'm in.", Shao Haoran was the first to agree without any question.
Shen Tian already expected that Shao Haoran would help out. Ever since he came to the safe zone, he had been of great help to him.
Shao Haoran then turned to Li Qingshan.
"Qingshan, I think your abilities can be of help for this project.", Shao Haoran talked his friend into helping. "You won't regret helping. Mo Jun, too. I assure you, Shen Tian's food is much better than the dry biscuits we have in our possession."
Shao Haoran didn't want to expose much about Shen Tian's food stock, but he knew that food is one of the motivating factors he can use to entice his friends.
"We're not really against helping out." Li QIngshan smiled. "Then, I'll look forward to our dinner today!"
Mo Jun laughed out loud and rolled his sleeves to help.
"Wait, before we start, you two still needs to sign a residency agreement with me.", Shen Tian stopped them from their actions. He took out two contracts and handed them to the two men.
"This contract contains every terms you need to abide while you're in the safe zone, the rental fee, compensation, and many other details.", Shen Tian explained. "You can read them slowly before you sign."
The two men accepted the contract. Just like Shao Haoran, they were also surprised at how Shen Tian was able to conjugate the paper seemingly out of thin air.
"If Shao Haoran trusts you, then we trust you too. He's a good judge of character.", said Mo Jun. He is the type who doesn't think much if someone else does the thinking for him so deciding to sign on the agreement was a no brainer.
Li Qingshan skimmed the agreement first and when he didn't see any glaring pitfalls, he signed as well.
Seeing the two men sign the agreement and paying him the crystal cores, Shen Tian was ecstatic.
Now he had two more strong slav--- er, helpers!
The four of them, as well as Baobao, then went to work as soon as the agreement was in place.
Li Qingshan touched the ground and concentrated his power. As soon as he injected his power onto the ground, the soil area in front of him moved like a wave. It traveled the distance between the source and destination, albeit slowly.
Shen Tian's jaw dropped upon seeing this. Shao Haoran was the only superpowered human he had encountered so far, so seeing this display of power in front of him was still as fresh as when he had seen Shao Haoran's thunder powers for the first time.
At the same time, he also got excited at the coincidence that the person Shao Haoran brought with him was a soil-type superhuman. The universe has definitely aligned itself to bring him what he needs!
"We can leave the moving of the soil to Qingshan.", Shao Haoran instructed. "We have two wheelbarrows here, so me and Mo Jun will use them to move the pebbles. Shen Tian can go ahead and shovel pebbles into the wheelbarrows."
No one had an objection with Shao Haoran's division of labor. Everyone took up their assigned role like disciplined soldiers. Even Baobao took it upon itself to help Li Qingshan by digging up the soil with its paws and piling it on one side - not that what its doing is of much help, though.
Indeed, having more people work on the project was faster. They were able to cover a large part of the task in just half a day.
Right as it was about to get dark, Shen Tian looked at the progress bar and was happy at today's results.

Seeing that there's only a little bit left, Shen Tian decided that they can leave the remaining portion of the task for tomorrow.
"Let's stop here for today.", he informed everyone. "We're almost done and we still have time for tomorrow. Besides, it's about to get dark. We won't be able to see anything by then."
He doesn't have an outdoor lamp he can use for night activities and the light from the house can't reach the area they were working at.
The three men also agreed. They had also traveled from afar so they wanted to rest as well.
The four men brought their tools back to the shed and entered the house.
"Shao Haoran, can you bring Mo Jun and Li Qingshan to the guest room please?", Shen Tian asked for a favor. "I'll just wash up for a bit and I'll prepare dinner soon. You guys can also wash up and rest. I'll call you as soon as dinner is ready."
The three people didn't reject Shen Tian's instructions and went inside.
As he said, Shen Tian first went to the bathroom to wash away the mud and dirt on his body. He also changed his clothes to clean ones. No one wants to eat food cooked by a dirty chef, after all. He doesn't want to leave a bad impression to his new guests, especially since he is still counting on them to bring in more tenants to the safe zone.
After he was done washing up, Shen Tian then went to the kitchen to prepare the feast he had promised his guests. He decided to go all out with today's dinner since he also wanted to show his appreciation for the help that the two new tenants had given him earlier.
Taking out the chicken, rice, and potatoes, Shen Tian started preparing for today's dinner.
