บท 41: meeting
(A/N Happy new year everyone let's start the year with bang. this might be a bit late since I was busy in holiday but new chapter yeah once again I would like to thank my beta reader/editor Shub_Niggurath)
Two days after their mission and celebration, the group has finally returned to Jujutsu High to report their progress.
"So let me get this straight. You have finished the mission two days ago and you're only returning now, not to mention how much destruction you left, did even at least to try hiding the existence of jujutsu?" Yaga chastised.
In reaponse, Satomi raised her hand and said "Sensei it is not it was the cursed spirit fault"
"Then why did not set up a veil" Yaga rebuked, exasperated.
"Who was the one supposed to set up the veil?" He asked. In a moment tacit agreement, both Shoko and Geto decided to sell out Satomi without any hesitation, both yelling "It's Satomi!".
" Huh!?, you traitors!, I wasn't th-" Satomi started shouting, almost crying as she looked at both of the culprits who turned their heads to the side
'Sorry Satomi, I can't help you right now' Shoko thought silently.
'Why did I forget to set the curtain, I knew that she was probably going to forget it anyways. Sorry Satomi' Geto thought.
"*Sigh* I guess it wasn't entirely your fault. We have been sending sorcerers to that village for some time now and so far, only you three have ever returned, good job. Take a rest for now" Saying so, Yaga then starts re-reading their report.
Satomi, pouting from the betrayal, was the first to stomp out of Yaga's office. "Come on, Geto" "You two go on first Shoko, I still have something to talk about with sensei " "Ok suit yourself, we'll be in the dorm if you need us"
"So what is it that you want to talk about?" Yaga inquires as geto summons one of his cursed spirits and then from its mouth, he pulls out the skull he discovered.
"I found this cursed object inside the spirit we fought" Geto said as Yaga takes the skull and examines it carefully.
"It's a cursed object alright, so what's wrong with it? It probably was created from the cursed spirit's energy mixing with one of the poor victim's skulls." Yaga asks.
"That's the thing, this cursed object has a different cursed energy signature than that of the cursed spirit " hearing this, Yaga pondered on what geto said
"Are you implying that someone is deliberately enhancing the cursed spirit with cursed objects? " "I'm not implying, I'm almost sure of it. The only thing stopping me from doing something with it is that I'm not sure of the culprits identity"
"You have any suspects?" Yaga questioned. Thinking for a moment, Geto decided to keep it to himself for now.
"I'm not sure of anything at the moment but I will tell you if I have someone" Geto then stands up and leaves Yaga's office.
'Not only cursed spirits are making a move, even curse users as well. I'm having a bad feeling about this' Yaga ponders as he looks out of his window. "*sigh* I'm getting too old for this".
At the entrance of the female dorm, Geto finds Satomi and Shoko sitting on the stairs
"What are you doing there" Geto asked .
"What do you want you traitor" Satomi turns to Geto.
"I'm sor-" as Geto was going to apologize, his phone rings out. Stopping what he was about to say, he then pulls out his phone and seeing the message decided to meet the sender.
"Hmm! Looks like I'm going to go now. Going to talk to later girls, I have some business to take care off" Geto says as he summons Port to open up a portal for him.
"Let's follow him" Satomi whispered to Shoko.
"And why do you want to follow him?" Shoko asked with a raised eyebrows?
"Oh don't tell me you are not even a little bit interested what got him in a hurry like that." Satomi teased.
"I'm interested yes, but we shouldn't meddle with other people's business Satomi" "But what if he gets in danger? If we follow him, we might be able help" Satomi tried to convince Shoko.
"No we can't, we-" before Shoko could even finish what she was saying Satomi interrupted her. "Pleeeease" Satomi looked out with puppy eyes at Shoko.
"Ugh fine, but if we got caught I am going to say it's your fault" "Yeah yeah, come on let's go" Satomi carelessly responded.
Meanwhile at a cafe near Jujutsu High.
"So did you find them Miguel?" "I don't know why you want me to find them but here" Miguel then gives Geto two folders containing some information.
"Hmm, just trust me my friend this is going as planned. By the way, how's my other request going?" Geto said as he opened up one of the folders.
"As much as we want to pay you back after saving the village, we couldn't just give you a black rope. We only have one right now, even with your help in crafting, it still would take a couple of years to create a new one"
"Take your time really, plus what have you been giving me is plenty enough" Miguel looked at Geto carefully and asked. "Why are you even interested with these guys? Seems like two normal highschoolers who barely have cursed energy".
"Appearances can be decei-" "deceiving alright, you have already told me a thousand times by now, so let me guess they're connected to this guy you called Kenjaku" to which Geto replied "Kind of yes, but I have other plans for now, continue tracking both Toji Zenin and Riku Amanai please, the merging of Tengen is rapidly approaching and I needed to be prepared"
"I'll be going then" "Take care my friend" Geto then looks at a bush not far away "Now then, time to deal with the peepers" Geto silently drops a barrier as he leaves the cafe.
"So care to tell me why are you following me?" Geto looks at Satomi and Shoko hiding in the bushes.
"Humph!! I knew you can't be trusted! Who are meeting here?" Satomi accused Geto.
"I'm not meeting someone, I just came to get some coffee" Geto lied with a straight face.
"Oh then what's the barrier for " Satomi pointed out. Geto rolled his eyes before answering "It's for the noise, I like drinking my coffee in silence without monkeys annoying me".
"Aha, you can't fool me Geto, where's your conspirator huh?" Satomi looks around Geto.
"For the last time, I didn't meet someone" Geto told Satomi. "Do you actually think that I'm so good at barrier techniques that I can fool your six eyes? You saw it for yourself, I was just alone"
"Bu-but" Satomi stammered "He's right Satomi, plus even if he's meeting someone, we shouldn't interfere with them" Shoko interfered.
"Fine, but I'm warning you Geto, if you do something that going to hurt Jujutsu High I'm going to ki-"
"Kick my ass? How are you planning on doing that? You couldn't even beat me "Geto teases.
"OH WHY YOU!!! LET GO OF ME SHOKO I AM GOING TO BREAK THAT ASSHOLE'S FACE!!!"
