After breakfast, Aurel slipped away for a moment of peace to her mother's garden. It was own personal tradition, to digest the food on her stomach and admire the flowers.

She wandered; the morning sun kissed her skin, and a gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the bushes.

Aurel was strolling along when she sensed the sound of footsteps approaching her from the back. Turning on her heels, her eyes met with Nicolaus' figure, drawing near.

He asked, "Care for a walk?"

"A walk?" she mirrored his question, yet she did not say no because she understood what was hidden behind the simple request.

For him, a walk was never just a walk; it was an invitation to a conversation of a serious matter. She was aware that when he suggested such a thing, it was his method of preparing the ground for discussion.
