บท 90: Chapter 90. Demon Ace Fleet
Ace raised his sword and intercepted the Naginata. Then Akainu punched forward with his others hand, as magma started bursting everywhere.
Ace punched back as well as fire started blossoming everywhere. The force of the explosions blasted Marco and the others away. The other Whitebeard pirates hurriedly took back their captain's body and the fight between Ace and Akianu took place.
Both of them skidded back many steps. The area surrounding them had totally changed as the ground had turned into lava with flames everywhere.
Many unconscious pirates and marines died from their exhange.
"You won't be leaving here alive." Akainu said.
Ace didn't take it seriously, but he was surprised by Akainu's power. His armament Haki might be on the same level as Kaidou's. To Ace's surprise, the admiral in front of him could probably fight well with an Emperor, even without Conqueror's Haki.
Akainu attacked once again as the ground turned into a big fist of magma that punched towards Ace.
"AKAINU, THIS IS A COMMAND, STAY BACK!" Sengoku shouted angrily as he saw the destruction caused.
"Let me show you what it means to burn." Ace said as he stepped forward, blasting apart the big magma hand, and arriving in front of Akainu.
His hand went towards Akainu's face but Akainu dodged. Ace changed the trajectory of his hand, that reached for Akainu's shoulder instead.
As soona as Ace caught Akainu's shoulder, a blue flame burst forward swallowing Akainu's left shoulder and chest.
Akainu roared in pain as the blue flames tried swallowing his upper body. Akainu turned into manga and dissapeared into the lava ground. Appearing dozens of meters away.
His suit was burnt off and he stood there with a grave burn mark, allover his left shoulder and chest. It looked grotesque.
Ace looked around and saw the amount of death and felt angry.
"I'll let you go this time, but there no next time." Ace said angrily as he turned around and went for his ship.
All the other marines that had stayed conscious started getting ready to fight the Demon Ace Pirates, and Ace didn't have any intention of furthering this war.
Akainu held his shoulder in pain as he looked furiously at Ace's back.
'Flame Emperor...' he thought furiously. He made a promise that he'd one day kill him, no matter what.
Sengoku closed his eyes as he realised that his era had ended with Whitebeard. He opened his eyes and once again looked at the battlefield. He realised that it was time for him to retire and allow the new generation to handle matters on their own.
"It seems like it has ended." A marine captain said as he sat on the ground, he was one of the few marines that remained conscious.
Ace jumped on his ship and looked at Moby Dick and Whitebeard fleet set sail. The Black Pearl was the last to set sail.
"Captain... How many people lost their lives." Nami said sounded slightly sad.
It was the first time they had seen so many corpses in one place.
It was at least thousands.
Ace didn't say anything. He didn't have a problem with killing, but everything should be done in good measure. Most of those that died were weaklings that had families and lifes outside of their work.
Everyone was doing their best to feed themselves wether they were a pirate or a marine.
"Jojo bring those two." Ace said as he looked at the state of the marines.
Jojo understood and brought out their two prisoners, The pink and purple haired twins that had strong willpower.
Ace turned to his grandfather that had refused to join the battle.
"Old man, here's my two gifts to you! " Ace said as he picked the two youths up by their hair, and threw them towards his Gramps.
Garp saw the coming and just sidestepped, allowing the two youths to crash into the building behind him.
"Let's go." Ace said as he turned around.
After a few days of sailing, the Black Pearl reached an island and they ported.
Ace looked back and saw another ship following them. The Moby Dick had followed them all the way from Marineford.
"Cap'n, ya think they want a fight?" Yamato asked as she held her club. She didn't mind fighting.
"No, they don't have intention to fight." Ace said with a frown. He used his observation Haki to feel their intentions.
"Eh, captain how could you know that, shouldn't we prepare just In case?" Gaga said as she started spinning her nunchucks.
"They are the Whitebeard pirates, even without their captain." Law commented as he stood against the railings.
Soon, the moby dick ported beside them.
Marco stood with the others and looked at the Demon Ace pirates.
"Can I invite you for some drinks-yoi." Marco said, he looked fine but his mood was obviously still sad.
Ace nodded as he jumped over, The Demon Ace pirates followed suit.
Ace followed Marco to the captain's cabin.
Marco seemed to have something to say.
As soon as the door closed, Marco bowed down in gratefulness.
"..."
"Thank you..." Marco said in a depressed tone. He didn't like the outcome of the war but it would've been much worse if it wasn't for the Flame Emperor.
"Don't worry about it. The truth is that I wanted to save the ol'man since I once made a promise to slap an old man for someone.." Ace said with a frown as his plans failed.
"Ehh?" Marco stood up in surprise and widened eyes.
"Ah, I mean, I respected the ol'man that I wanted to fight him again." Ace said awkwardly as his eyes looked around.
"Pfft, Pops was right about you-yoi." Marco chuckled.
"Huh, did he call me names?" Ace asked angrily, he wouldn't mind slapping a dead old man for that matter.
"He said that you would make a perfect fit as his son." Marco chuckled even more as he explained.
"Huh, the old man said that?" Ace asked as he pointed at himself.
'How funny fate is...' Ace thought to himself.
"Yes, but he couldn't bring himself to ask you to join after you bested him-yoi." Marco said with a sad smile.
"Oh, well then.." Ace retracted his idea to slap Whitebeard's dead body.
"What will you do now?" Ace asked Marco.
Marco sighed and sat down on a chair. "Don't know-yoi." He sighed.
"You should lead the remaining Whitebeard pirates as their new captain." Ace suggested.
"I could never fill pops shoes." Marco waved away the idea as sadness once again overtook his voice.
"Maybe not, but as the eldest brother, you need to act it. They might not be able to sail with this pops of yours, but they can still sail with their eldest brother. Aren't you guys family.?" Ace asked, making Marco snap his head to Ace with big eyes.
"... It seems like.. you're right." Marco said as he looked down and smiled.
Ace smiled as well, it seemed like Marco only wanted to thank him for saving their crew.
Ace turned around to go eat, he was hungry.
"Wait-yoi!" Marco stopped Ace, as he stood up.
"As the leader of this ship, I hereby swear allegiance to you." Marco said seriously.
"Eh? You want to sail under the Demon Ace Fleet?" Ace asked in surpise.
"The majority of Whitebeard fleet has already dispanded, the others have no where to go... Let us sail under you, but in return, protect the remaining territories that belonged to Whitebeard." Marco said seriously.
"..." Ace didn't say anything.
In Wano, he had gotten a strong fleet that used to belong to Kaidou, and now this...
In the end, he nodded, gaining a big smile from Marco.
"Let's announce it-yoi." Marco said happily.
