บท 76: The War of Women is Everywhere

Seeing Amelia's slight unease, Ethan guided her while driving, "You haven't started yet, but in the future, you will need to study more materials. The most effective way to progress is through practice. When I go out, you can come along and learn."

Learning by going out, isn't discussing contracts supposed to be a confidential occasion where she can follow along?

It made sense though, theoretical knowledge without practical experience is just empty talk.

"Alright, then whenever there is a learning opportunity to gain experience, just let me know," Amelia replied. Their eyes met, and they exchanged a smile.

Grand Group.

Ethan parked the car and the two of them got out.

"Alright, we have two more hours until the end of work. We'll be home soon," Ethan said.

Amelia nodded. For some reason, she felt that Ethan seemed really happy and had an anticipatory look on his face. Going home every day, she wondered if there was something special waiting for her.

Back in the office, before she could even settle down, Rosetta walked in.

"Not bad. Went out for some fun? This is working hours," Rosetta said.

Amelia lazily glanced at her and began organizing her documents, showing no expression, as if she hadn't heard her speak.

Ignoring her like this, it was clear that she regarded others as beneath her, making Rosetta even more frustrated and uncomfortable.

"I'm talking to you. Didn't you hear me?" Rosetta crossed her arms, took a few steps forward, and stood in front of Amelia's desk.

Amelia pulled at the corners of her mouth, looking at her with a half-smile. "Are you the company's hired alarm clock? There's no need for you to remind me of anything."

"You..."

"Oh, right. The alarm clock doesn't suit you. You're more like an annoying alarm clock."

Seeing Amelia's demeanor, Rosetta couldn't bear it and retorted, "Even if I am like a human alarm clock, I'm still at the company, not leaving until it's time to go home. But what about you? What were you doing during work hours? Shameless."

Amelia observed the anger in Rosetta's expression and detected a strong sense of jealousy. It seemed that she had found out about her outing with Ethan earlier.

This person was no ordinary employee of the company, but rather an information collector, specifically targeting her.

"What I do is none of your business. I work here, and of course, I follow Mr. Frost's instructions. If he likes taking me out, I can't refuse, can I?" Amelia's tone carried a hint of helplessness and feigned resignation. After speaking, she let out a light sigh, as if she had been forcefully taken out to play by Ethan.

"You..." Rosetta pointed at her, snorted coldly, and walked out. Her complexion turned unpleasant.

Amelia stood up, walked over to close the door, and muttered softly, "Who wouldn't? Can't believe there are people like her." She shook her head lightly and returned to her seat, recalling the scene where Ethan negotiated the price while simultaneously taking notes.

...

Aria parked the car on the side of the road and called Adrian.

"Hey, my brother wants to treat us to dinner tonight to celebrate my sister-in-law's newly decorated place. Let's go have a look."

Adrian glanced at his watch and estimated that it would take another half an hour for the rehearsal to finish. They had been busy for days without a proper gathering, so he agreed, "Okay, I'll rush over in half an hour. Send me the location."

"No problem. See you tonight then," Aria replied.

After hanging up the phone, Aria drove towards the mall, thinking about what gift she should bring for her sister-in-law. As she drove, she blinked her lively eyes and smiled, her dimples making her even more adorable.

In the CEO's office at Grand Group.

"Finally, it's time to go home," Ethan stood up and muttered to himself. Before, going home was no different from going to work, just changing locations. But now, after having Amelia, he found himself looking forward to going home.

"Ethan, can you give me a ride home after work?" Rosetta asked as she entered the office, interrupting Ethan's thoughts.

Ethan checked the time and remembered that he had plans with Aria and Adrian later, which wasn't on the way to Rosetta's place. After hesitating for a moment, he smiled and said, "I actually have something to take care of. Let Mike give you a ride instead."

Before Rosetta could respond, Amelia appeared in front of her.

"It's time to leave work. Let's go home," Amelia said casually to Ethan, as if speaking to her husband.

He was her husband, but Rosetta didn't know that.

Ethan nodded, planning to surprise Amelia tonight.

Rosetta looked at Ethan, his deep eyes radiating a gentle light that reminded her of Sophia. It seemed even more tender than usual, which made her feel uneasy.

"Can you just give me a ride? It won't take much time. My mom also misses you. Before I came to work today, she asked me to say hello to you," Rosetta insisted.

Mentioning her mom was Ethan's weak spot.

She knew that by saying this, he would definitely agree. She just had to be careful not to mention it too often, as that might affect the overall effect.

Ethan looked at Amelia. Her expression was indifferent as she lowered her head to glance at her watch. She probably didn't mind since it was just giving someone a ride, right? "Okay, let's go," Ethan agreed.

Upon hearing this, Rosetta looked triumphantly at Amelia, adopting a victorious posture.

As they followed Ethan who was walking ahead, Amelia calmly whispered in her ear, "It's just giving you a ride home. What's there to be so proud of? We're together every day, so don't take yourself too seriously."

After saying that, the halo of victory seemed to shift to Amelia, leaving Rosetta furious and unable to retaliate. She uttered the word "you" but then fell silent, her face turning pale.

"Miss Jones, hurry up. Your cousin is already downstairs," Amelia called out. She followed behind, gasping for breath, and caught up with Ethan.

The car ride was quiet, with only Amelia wearing a faint smile. Every time, Ethan made Amelia sit in the passenger seat while Rosetta sat in the back. Why did she have to sit in the back? It made her unhappy.

Today's quiet atmosphere surprised Ethan. He occasionally turned his head to look at Amelia, who had a gentle expression and a light smile on her face, seemingly in a good mood.

Through the rearview mirror, he glanced at Rosetta sitting in the backseat. Her face was gloomy, filled with anger, hugging her arms and remaining silent.

Clearly, one was the victor while the other felt vulnerable. The war of women is everywhere, with their emotions changing unpredictably.

In this atmosphere, Ethan focused on driving without saying a word. Amelia reached out and turned on the stereo, filling the car with warm music. She leaned back, closed her eyes, and relaxed, enjoying the moment.
