บท 55: Why the Review Did Not Pass

Mike took a step forward, looking at her with a gentle tone that still carried a sense of dignity. "Mr. Frost is very busy with numerous international cooperation projects, so he doesn't have time to focus on the progress review of small projects."

The mention of international cooperation and the dismissal of small project progress clearly indicated that they were not taking Harper Group seriously.

Bella's lips curled slightly, showing her displeasure as she glanced at the group of people and quickly locked eyes with Amelia.

Delilah had been studying Amelia for a while now, and the more she looked, the more she noticed their resemblance. There was even a hint of Amelia's aura, although her dressing and demeanor were far more refined.

"Ms. Sophia, long time no see," Delilah said.

Amelia smiled faintly, looking at them calmly with an indifferent expression. "Mr. Harper, Mr. Frost mentioned that he needs to return within an hour due to other arrangements, so..."

Charles nodded. "OK. Please follow me. The follow-up plan has been finalized, and you can also visit our factory."

"That's even better. Mr. Harper, please take them to the factory for an on-site inspection, while we stay here to review the plan."

Amelia turned back and gestured to two colleagues who had come along, giving them a firm gaze that conveyed efficiency, diligence, and a responsible work attitude.

"Naturally, my secretary will make the arrangements. Ms. Sophia, please come with me,"

Mike and the remaining two colleagues followed Amelia into the discussion room and took their seats.

Delilah felt both similarities and differences between Amelia and Sophia, causing her to be conflicted in her own speculation.

"I didn't expect Ms. Sophia to be so young and talented, becoming a director at Grand Group. You must have a promising future," Delilah remarked.

Amelia recalled Ethan's instructions: emphasize the importance of time and, if anyone suspected that she was Amelia, dismiss it without response, leaving them to guess.

She looked up at Delilah and casually said, "Hello, Mrs. Harper. You are very beautiful."

"Thank you. You too. You resemble my other daughter," Delilah replied.

After speaking, Delilah carefully watched Amelia's facial expressions, not wanting to miss any details.

Amelia seemed as if she hadn't heard and focused on the plan document, momentarily stunned before raising her head to look at Delilah. She nodded slightly and said, "I'm sorry, I didn't catch what you said."

Delilah looked displeased and was about to say something when she was interrupted. "... Alright, time is precious. Let's discuss the contract."

Delilah felt somewhat unhappy but couldn't find the words and stood there in a daze.

Bella glanced at Amelia and commented, "It seems like you're quite busy; your eyes are only focused on work. Is this what they call having one's nose in the air?"

"Having one's nose in the air," Bella was Delilah's biological daughter, venting for her mother's sake.

Amelia paused, raised her head with a smile, and glanced at her watch. "Miss Harper, it's working hours for me. The company pays me to focus wholeheartedly on work, and having nothing to do with people or matters unrelated to work is only natural."

Bella looked at her, dissatisfied. After taking the upper hand at Grand Group, she now faced being overshadowed by Amelia at Harper Group on her own territory. It was embarrassing.

"Oh dear, it seems that an employee who relies on a salary, no matter how glamorous his life may seem, is ultimately dependent on others. It's truly different from us, not having to rely on appeasing others or watching the clock to get by," Bella emphasized the word "employee."

After Bella finished speaking, she looked at Amelia with a provocative smile, completely immersed in her own sense of superiority.

Amelia glanced at her, smiled slightly, and focused on her watch, seemingly looking at Charles. This family was truly of the same kind, each one carrying an air of superiority, thinking they were superior beings.

Amelia felt a strong sense of contempt, as she had achieved everything through deceitful means without feeling any shame. She was like a shameless thief, stealing from others and using what she stole without any sense of shame or guilt. Not only that, she even proudly showed off her ill-gotten gains. It was truly shameless to the extreme.

"Miss Harper is right. Since you all have plenty of time on your hands, I believe we should continue this discussion in the afternoon. As people with ample free time, it shouldn't be a problem, right? So, Miss Harper, please come to Grand Group to find me in the afternoon. We can proceed with production follow-up once the cooperation agreement is approved. I apologize for the rush, but I need to return to work as time is of the essence. See you in the afternoon."

After finishing her words, Amelia stood up, placed the contract heavily on the table, flashed a smile, and left the room.

Mike remained standing there, looking at Bella, who appeared confused. He nodded slightly.

"Miss Harper, our CEO instructed that if Ms. Sophia doesn't sign off on the review, production should be halted."

"What! Why should production be stopped just because she didn't review it? Why didn't the review pass?" Bella was somewhat angry as she looked at Mike. Stopping production wasn't a trivial matter, and considering various costs, tens of thousands could be lost in a day.

Mike smiled faintly and looked up at her. "Miss Harper, you seemed to have plenty of time, only chatting with Ms. Sophia. She didn't have time to review it, How could it have passed? What do you think? Goodbye."

As Mike walked out, Charles glanced at Bella, who had an unpleasant expression with heavy makeup.

"Now, are you satisfied now? Grand Group is cooperating with us, and according to the terms of the contract, they can control every aspect. How dare you treat their director like this?"

Charles spoke while looking at Bella, tapping the table a few times, feeling unhappy about the losses. For someone who loved money above all else and would stop at nothing, nothing was more painful than financial losses.

"I did it because she was disrespectful to my mother! In Harper Group, what gives her the right to be so superior and treat others with contempt? Treating others with contempt and still speaking so self-righteously. If I don't suppress her a little, she won't know whose territory she's on or who she is."

"Superiority, territory?" Charles repeated these words, pointing at Bella while nodding repeatedly.

"You should consider Mr. Frost's reputation and not stoop down to her level."

"I... "

"You just wait. When you go to Harper Group to discuss the review with her, experience the words superiority, territory, and suppression."

After saying this, Charles glanced at Delilah and then at Bella before leaving the meeting room.

Bella looked at Delilah, helplessly seeking advice. "Mom, what should I do?"

Delilah recalled her encounter with Sophia earlier and her face became grim.

Lowering her voice cautiously, she asked, "Are you sure Amelia is really dead and that Ms. Sophia isn't..."

"You mean she is Amelia?"
