บท 25: What Was Rosetta to Ethan?
"You are now homeless. This is a perfect place for you,"
Michael said as he handed Amelia a glass of red wine. She stared at the wine and then spilled it.
"Haha, good girl. It's okay, but I have to tell you I put nothing in the wine. Drugs are not fun at all."
Michael truly had no sense of shame. Amelia wondered how to run out of there.
Her phone was gone...
She thought fast, trying to get out of there as soon as possible. However, she had no way out.
While being chased by Michael, Amelia tried calling Ethan, but she didn't know if she got through.
Even if it succeeded, how could Ethan know what happened to her?
And there was Rosetta beside Ethan, laughing and chatting with him. Maybe they would...
Amelia had to save herself.
"Don't. You are wasting your strength. We can play games after I finish the wine."
Michael thought no one would come to save her, so he was not in a rush. He drank and enjoyed.
"Can I join you?"
"Now you're talking. You are my girl, and we used to drink together. Do you know how much I liked you back then? I dared not touch you though I was drunk. And today, we can finally enjoy ourselves. It will be a lovely night."
Amelia walked to the table, took a glass, and poured wine.
Michael looked at her cheerfully and proposed a "love shot."
She said yes. While drinking, she took the wine bottle secretly and held it tight. There were fire burning in her eyes while pleasure in his face.
Amelia lifted the bottle up and hit him over the head. Michael was disconcerted, and then he was hit a crack on the head.
"Ouch... You..."
He felt his head achy and touched blood. Michael gave her a hard slap.
Amelia fell to the ground. The old memories flashed in her mind, and it was sarcastic.
When she came to her senses, she got up and ran to the door. It was locked. She switched the lock with all her might. Michael pulled her back when she was about to make it. She hit the ground hard.
"No way. You are not leaving. We have to play games."
Malignancy shined in his eyes. Like a beast, Michael ignored the wound on his head and pounced on her.
Amelia struggled and shouted. And after a while, she kicked his vitals.
"Ouch... You... You bitch..."
He cupped his hand over the pain and shouted. Seeing that, Amelia grabbed everything in the room and threw them at him.
"You shameless. You set me up, and you try to assault me. Don't ever do that to anyone."
Michael couldn't stand it anymore. He stood up and pointed at Amelia with a knife in his hand.
"You wicked girl. You hit and raid me. You..."
She eluded his attack. It seemed Michael forgot his pain. He ran towards Amelia.
Finally, she fell on the ground again. The knife gleamed, and Michael smirked. He thought he could do anything he wanted to her.
Each of his movements made her heart race.
When Michael just tried to do something, the door was kicked open.
The man was like a life-saving straw. Amelia breathed a sigh of relief and ran to him.
"Ethan, you are here," Amelia stood beside him, panting. Her tension eased.
"You? What are..." Michael wanted to ask Ethan what was he doing there.
However, he didn't finish his words because Ethan kicked him over.
Ethan glanced at the wound on Michael's head and asked Amelia, "Are you alright?"
Thinking about what happened just now, Amelia sat against the wall.
"I'm okay. Okay," she said weakly.
Ethan looked at Michael and gestured at his subordinates.
"Don't pull your punches. Let Mr. Steele know the rules."
The men heard his words and were itching for the fight. Michael ducked back alarmedly with his eyes full of fear and panic.
Ethan lifted Amelia in his arms and left. Michael was mercilessly hit and passed out.
The Steele family got the news and sent Michael to hospital.
"We're home. Can you get off by yourself?"
Ethan looked at Amelia in the back seat and asked.
"Yeah."
She opened the door slowly, got out of the car, and let out a sigh of relief
"The car is still parked at Chinchol Manor," she suddenly said.
It was expensive and a borrowed car. Amelia was worried about it.
"Go inside. Someone will take care of it."
They entered the villa. Ethan poured a glass of water and handed it to her.
Amelia stared st him confusedly and said, "You knew where I was and saved me. How did you make it?"
"I called you, and nobody answered. So I checked the security cameras around," he answered outright.
"I see."
Amelia thought in her heart, "Why didn't he ask me the reason I went there?
And who is the Rosetta Frost? Why did he laugh and chat with her?"
"Gosh, you told them to hit Michael. You will be in trouble. Ethan, you can't stay here anymore. You are not safe in Keadow. You have to leave now."
Amelia recalled the yells of pain from Michael when they left the room. She was a little panicked.
Ethan looked at her and responded calmly, "It's okay. Nothing will happen."
There was no change in his countenance. His calm manner surprised Amelia.
"Are you sure? The Steele family is a powerful family, just like the Harper family. You hurt Michael..." she didn't finish her sentence. Ethan hurt Michael, and the Steele family surely wouldn't let him off the hook.
"We'll see."
Amelia didn't finish her sentence, for Ethan interrupted her calmly.
"Forget it. Have a bath. It's late. Go."
When taking a shower, she felt sad. She surely had some questions in her heart, but she dared not speak out.
Rosetta and Ethan.
They had a meal and laughed together. And Ethan showed a rare expression of mildness.
What was Rosetta to him?
Amelia walked out of the bathroom and found Ethan was not in the bedroom. She thought about going to the study but stopped at the door.
Even if he was there, what could she say?
She decided to let it go since her own affair mattered more.
"Are you awake?"
When Ethan went back to the bedroom and saw Amelia lying there, he asked in a soft voice.
