Alex parried Ray’s attack off with clumsy actions. He was feeling stronger than before but that did not improve his technique.

On the other hand, Ray was also beginning to lose her power. She no longer had the support of the shrine. But that did not make her useless. She would never have been the vessel if she had been overly dependent on the shrine.

“You betrayed me and my trust. How could you do that to me?”

Ray blamed Alex for her current situation which did not make sense. Her foot connected with Alex’s middle and sent him flying.

Just as that happened, Alex felt Kurina’s buff drain out of his skin. He was certain that Kurina had either been healed or knocked out. That made his power 1/5th of what it was at the start.

Ray noticed his slower reflexes and she increased her attack speed. She was pushing her body beyond its limits but she did not care. This was the one time she could not afford to stay ideal.
