บท 227: Chapter 228 : Mangekyō??

Cough, cough!

Observing Orochimaru's meticulous treatment of the patient in his hands, Tsunade took a deep breath, pushing aside distracting thoughts to focus on her work.

Indeed, she proved to be a promising medical ninja. She worked efficiently, displaying a resilience similar to that of a seasoned male.

While most medical personnel could only manage basic tasks like dressing and disinfection, Tsunade could swiftly restore ninjas to fighting condition. Many ninjas had succumbed to infections or bleeding due to inadequate treatment, lying helpless on their beds.

"It's truly disheartening. So few of the Cloud shinobi have bloodline limits. It seems that only a handful of ninja clans possess such lineage abilities. I wonder if Ai's physique qualifies."

Completing the intricate medical procedures left Orochimaru somewhat fatigued.

Given their victory, the Uchiha ninja bodies were carefully preserved. Orochimaru, having absorbed a considerable amount of Sharingan, no longer required ordinary Sharingan.

In battle, it was impossible to fully control the Sharingan, preventing it from falling into the wrong hands. However, considering the bigger picture, the only person capable of directly transplanting and effectively using the Sharingan was Hatake Kakashi.

Perhaps it was a stroke of luck; Kakashi could manage the Sharingan, but the drawbacks were significant.

He couldn't deactivate the Sharingan, resulting in continuous chakra drain. He had to conceal it with a forehead protector. Eventually, Kakashi, with his Sharingan, became stagnant and faced criticism from countless individuals.

Ordinary individuals, when subjected to Sharingan transplants, would end up blinded, with chakra being rapidly consumed, rendering them incapable of utilizing any abilities.

Otherwise, if everyone could easily transplant the Sharingan, it would lose its rarity. For the Uchiha clan, the inevitable outcome would be annihilation.

Despite the Uchiha's prowess, human greed prevailed. In history, many examples existed, such as the destruction of the Land of Whirlpools, where mastery of sealing techniques led to their downfall.

Possessing such a "treasure," the Uchiha clan faced relentless attacks from other clans.

The fate of the Uchiha was sealed. They perished. Orochimaru had acquired numerous Sharingans, but there was no sign of him implanting them into other subordinates.

Orochimaru's research confirmed that ordinary people couldn't harness the power of the Sharingan. Only a select few, like Danzo, could barely tap into its potential through extensive human experimentation.

In the entire ninja world, only Orochimaru and Shinnō, the inventor of the Body Revival Technique, possess this kind of technology.

The only known eye technique that can be transplanted is the Byakugan of the Hyuga clan. They have caged birds, allowing them to protect themselves. However, these eyes were stolen by Cloud shinobi.

In terms of ocular prowess, Orochimaru has long surpassed the capabilities of an ordinary Mangekyō Sharingan. With his immense spiritual power, his non-Mangekyō Sharingan illusion prowess even surpasses that of the Uchiha clan.

However, the true terror of illusions lies in the fact that they leave the opponent in a desperate situation. What Orochimaru and Takeshi excel at now is directly dismantling other's spiritual defenses through sheer force. There's a significant difference.

In the solitude of nowhere, Orochimaru's snake pupils silently changed, and three tomoe appeared in his eyes. The crimson tomoe swiftly revolved, reaching a certain limit. The three tomoe gradually connected at high speed, seemingly motionless.

After absorbing a considerable amount of power from ordinary Shakers, Orochimaru's eyes also reached the limits of ordinary Shakers. He was only one step away from breaking through the constraints and activating the Mangekyō Sharingan.

This cannot be achieved solely through immense ocular power; it requires a qualitative change resulting from a quantitative change. Otherwise, with so many Uchiha clan members, countless individuals wouldn't struggle to open a Mangekyō Sharingan throughout their lifetimes of cultivation.

To unlock the Mangekyō Sharingan, one needs a substantial emotional stimulus. Unlike the evolution of ordinary tomoe, it must be extremely painful — the kind of despair arising from losing something most precious. Only then is there a chance for the eyes to evolve.

This probability hinges on the purity of the bloodline and the power inherited from the Six Path Immortals.

In simpler terms, it relies on the stimulation of mental power to generate yin power, and when Chakra reaches a certain level, it is "purified" in this manner.

A Mangekyō Sharingan can only be unlocked with sufficiently pure yin chakra. Otherwise, regardless of ocular power, it can only resemble the eyes of the Uchiha clan or the current state of Orochimaru.

"It's truly nerve-wracking. Losing my most precious possession to stimulate my eyes is not at all suitable for me, nor is it suitable for my body," Orochimaru remarked casually. His ideals are of utmost importance to him, and the pursuit of truth will persist as long as he lives.

In the original narrative, Orochimaru experienced the most anguish when Hiruzen Sarutobi sealed his hands, rendering him unable to use ninjutsu. This allowed Sasuke to slip away repeatedly before his eyes, resulting in numerous failures.

However, this is merely pain. Orochimaru is a pragmatic individual who understands that as long as he lives, life extends beyond such immediate setbacks. Unsealing his hands is enough to delve into Otsutsuki research without relying on Sasuke's body.

It can be said that as long as one is alive, everything is possible. With enough longevity, nothing is beyond reach!

Ambition doesn't dwindle with age; a life devoid of ambition is akin to a century without meaning. It can only be considered lingering, and death becomes meaningless.

Orochimaru harbors lofty ambitions, driven by a desire to unravel the deepest mysteries and master all facets of existence. Delving into the origin of the world is his pursuit, as he believes that human civilization's thousands of years of development merely scratch the surface of knowledge.

The elusive nature of his goal, distinct from the illusory concept of peace or the Black Zetsus mission to save his mother, allows Orochimaru to continuously strive for achievements without ever reaching a definitive endpoint.

This pursuit, rooted in the realm of science, grants Orochimaru a unique form of greatness. It is through this ideal that he envisions living eternally, evolving into an evergreen, formidable villain, impervious to the erosion of time.

However, this grand ambition comes at a cost – Orochimaru remains indifferent to emotional connections. For someone fixated on attaining immortality, personal bonds are relegated to the past.

Though fetters may be deemed precious, Orochimaru is unwavering in his commitment to avoid letting anything, especially an entity like himself devoted to longevity, pierce his heart.

At crucial junctures, he can discard such attachments without hesitation, valuing his own life above all else.

Yet, the irony lies in the challenge of sacrificing one's life to unlock a Mangekyō Sharingan. It presents a paradox that Orochimaru grapples with, as the pursuit of eternal life clashes with the act of willingly surrendering one's existence.

Similarly, in this world, Takeshi, a traveler driven by a fervor for power, places the utmost value on his own life. While Takeshi lacks Orochimaru's "sublime" ideals, he harbors genuine care for certain individuals, even though they exist in a different dimension.

However, the separation from those he holds dear forces Takeshi to neglect their well-being.

Attempting to deceive oneself through illusions is dismissed as an overly challenging endeavor. Opening a Mangekyō Sharingan is a complex task, far removed from the simplicity of bestowing Uchiha with a full bloom of three hooks.

"In this scenario, there remains only one method to unlock the Mangekyō Sharingan – finding a way to consume the Mangekyō Sharingans of others!" Orochimaru declares, his tongue grazing the tips of his teeth, eyes gleaming with ruthlessness and ambition.

"At present, it seems unlikely that anyone in the Uchiha clan can activate the Mangekyō Sharingan. If circumstances demand it, Uchiha Kagami-sama, would your eyes allow me to take that necessary step?"
