"Sir, if you don't mind, can I say something?" Alexander's secretary said, and Alexander lifted his gaze from his phone to look at his subordinate through the rearview mirror.
"Hm," he hummed vaguely.
"Please don't mind me, but you were quite harsh with Miss Evangeline just now. She really looked scared, and from her expression, it looked like she didn't even share her story with anyone else but you. And you kind of made her feel bad by telling her she was making it all up for your brother. Why would she need to do that?" The secretary asked, looking at his boss cautiously.
Alexander didn't comment on anything.
He just looked out of the window with an expressionless face as they moved towards the University from where he was going to take Justin after they were done with their second meeting.
He knew that Evangeline was telling the truth. He could see it in her eyes, but he didn't want to entertain the idea.
