As we stood outside the cave, basking in the afterglow of our successful quest, I decided to use my "Dimensional Gate" spell to get us back to the adventurer's guild quickly. Mei didn't have any identification, and time was of the essence.
"Dimensional Gate," I chanted, imagining the alley near the adventurer's guild as our destination. A magical circle formed underneath our feet, and in an instant, we found ourselves in the alley just outside the guild.
"I can't believe we actually got here that quickly," Mei exclaimed, her eyes wide with surprise and amazement.
"It really was instantaneous. This will come in handy for future fights," Amy remarked, looking thoughtful.
"I believe so too. Now, let's go turn in our quest and then explore the town together," I suggested, eager to share our triumph with the guild.
"You mean like a date, Master?" Amy asked, her tail swaying back and forth with excitement.
"A date? That sounds great!" Mai chimed in, her ruby eyes glowing with anticipation.
"Very well, an impromptu date it is then," I replied, a smile blooming on my face as I looked at Amy and Mai, who seemed quite ecstatic about the idea.
As we approached the bustling and noisy adventurer's guild, I overheard some of the adventurers talking among themselves.
"Is that the guy and cat-girl who breezed through the trials?" Adventure A asked.
"I think so, and look, he's got another beauty alongside him now too. Lucky bastard," Adventure B replied.
"You don't even know half of it," I thought to myself, amused by their assumptions.
At the guild's counter, we were greeted by a familiar face—Elara, the guild staff member.
"Hello again, Rei, Amy, and Yuki. Though I notice two new faces as well, did you meet them during your quest?" Elara asked, her gaze curious as she looked at Mei and Yami.
"We're back. The quest was quite eventful if I do say so myself," Amy replied with a giggle.
"These are my new friends. This is Mei, my childhood friend, and this little one is Yami," I introduced them to Elara.
"Barf…" Yami spoke, showing her displeasure at being called "little."
"It is nice to meet you, Mai. Though if you are Rei's second lover, that must mean… Amy, are you in a relationship with Rei as well?" Elara asked, her expression a mix of surprise and disappointment.
"That's correct, I am master's first lover," Amy answered, hugging my left arm tightly, which prompted Mai to hug my right arm with equal enthusiasm.
"I'm not really sure what these two are doing, but there must be a reason for it," I thought to myself, feeling slightly embarrassed by their affectionate displays.
"Curses, though if he already has two girlfriends, I might be able to make him mine as well," Elara murmured softly, her voice barely audible.
"Pardon?" I asked, catching the faint whisper.
"Eh…nothing, nothing at all, Ehehe," Elara quickly replied, a blush spreading across her cheeks.
"Right, anyways, we would like to turn in our quest," I said, feeling a bit tired from the unexpected attention.
"Very well, would Mai like to register as an adventurer as well?" Elara asked, switching back to her professional demeanor.
"Not at the moment. We will come back tomorrow. We have plans after this," I answered, glancing at Mai and Amy, who both nodded in agreement.
"Okay, then please put the proof of conquest on the counter, and I'll mark the quest as complete," Elara instructed, getting back to business.
Reaching into our travel bag, I activated my skill "Item Bag" internally and pulled out the proof of our victory—a goblin general's horned helmet and some rare goblin materials we had collected along the way. As I presented the tokens, Elara's eyes widened with surprise.
"Wha…what's wrong?" I asked hesitantly.
"Rei, did you two really defeat a goblin general?" Elara questioned, still shocked by the revelation.
"Yes, we did," I replied, just as Amy made a face and interjected.
"No, we didn't beat it. Master defeated that ugly thing by himself. It was amazing. Master, you should take pride in yourself more," Amy said with admiration.
"She's right, Rei. You have always been like that since we were kids," Mai stated, hugging my arm.
With a mix of emotions running through the room, the atmosphere in the guild felt charged with curiosity and surprise. As we recounted our adventures, I noticed other adventurers stealing glances and whispering among themselves, adding to the buzz of excitement surrounding our group.
Elara, though initially taken aback, seemed genuinely impressed by our feat. A warm smile spread across her face as she marked the quest as complete, acknowledging our success.
"Congratulations on your victory. You never fail to amaze us, Rei," she said with a tone of genuine admiration.
"Thank you, Elara. It was a team effort," I replied humbly, appreciating her kind words.
As we made our way out of the guild, the setting sun bathed the town in a warm golden light. We decided to spend the rest of the evening exploring the town together.
