บท 109: New tranfer student

"Starting from today's lesson, there will be another transfer student in this class. Please introduce yourself"

….

Murmurs resounded throughout the whole classroom at the teacher's words.

After all, this has been the 3rd time that a new student transferred to this specific class.

When did transferring to Chiba Academy become so easy and commonplace?

Mostly aristocratic and wealthy women attend this prestigious school, and despite the 'good' facade that is displayed on the surface, most of these students have pride.

And so, watching many students transferring to this classroom, one after the other, they are thinking of taking these complaints to the principal of this school.

But this currently has nothing to do with Adam.

That would be the case-

"Privet. Bronya's name is Bronya Zeychik"

-If it weren't for the silver-haired girl standing on the podium, expressionlessly introducing herself with a monotone voice

"..."

Once again, murmurs of doubt echoed throughout the classroom as the new transfer student introduced herself.

As for the silver-haired boy that 'dyed' his hair blonde….?

He was looking at the new transfer student with doubt in his eyes.

"What is it Adam-senpai? Why are you looking at that girl like that?"

The cheerful voice of Kiana that was tinted with doubt reached his ears.

Apparently, noticing him look at the new girl with such intensity sparked a trace of curiosity within her.

"Adam… Is there something wrong with this girl?"

Mei, who was sitting beside him at the same desk, also asked him.

….

Differently from Kiana, the purple-haired girl was observing Adam more closely, and being deskmates allowed her to see exactly how he reacted.

"...."

….No, she was not staring at Adam's face or anything! She was just curious about what he thought of the new student.

And so, she could sense the doubt and confusion on his face.

She was confident that she could read his emotions well enough…

….

"Nothing…"

The blonde(?) boy waved off their questioning with a voice that didn't sound believable at all.

"I am just surprised to see her, that's all"

He narrowed his eyes at the girl standing at the podium.

And then-

Their eyes met

Adam gave Bronya a small, calm smile.

"...."

The silver-haired girl on the podium kept her face blank, still looking at him expressionlessly.

"Silence!"

The beautiful but stern teacher shouted.

"...."

Instantly, the class was quiet.

"This new student is the daughter of the new president of ME corporation…. So please be respectful"

Gasp!

"What did she say? This little girl is the daughter of the new president?!"

"Shut up, you idiot!"

"This is the ME corporation, now that a new person besides that criminal is in power, your life will be ruined for disrespecting her!"

Mei remained silent, hands trembling as she bit her lip.

The purple-haired girl looked at the unassuming girl on the podium with a conflicted expression, not knowing what to feel.

After all…. The mother of this girl is the new president of the company that her father put all of his efforts in

And-

"Don't worry, Mei"

Something warm grasped her hand as Adam's voice reached her ears.

"...."

Pursing her lips, she said nothing, only grasping the blonde's hand tighter, as if trying to find comfort.

"Eh? What's up with Mei-senpai?!"

Kiana also looked over, looking at Mei with surprise.

Then, her eyes widened as she realized what was wrong

"Oh, don't worry about this new little brat! If she bullies you, I will beat her up!"

The white-haired girl tilted her head, smiling brightly at her as she brought a fist and tapped it against her palm to prove her point.

"Don't be so violent"

Adam rolled his eyes at the violent Tuna, not quite agreeing with her attitude.

"You have nothing to worry about, Mei." He smiled softly at her "Besides, this girl might be like you. She probably doesn't have anything to do with the feud between her mother and your father, right?"

"You are right, Adam…"

She took a deep breath, trying to rationally think about this situation.

"And Kiana-chan, please don't use violence against her- as Adam said, she hasn't done anything yet"

Mei smiled, looking at the white-haired girl who was ready for violence with a soft smile.

"Ehhhh?! C'mmon Mei-senpai!"

Kiana looked at the purple-haired girl with wide eyes, a pleading look on her face-

"Oi! Violence isn't the answer to everything!"

Adam interjected, shifting his seat to look at her.

"Huh? Then you are simply not using enough-!"

"Ouch!"

The white-haired warrior flinched back, rubbing the small red spot on her forehead as Adam flicked her forehead,

"What did you do that for, Adam-senpai?!" She glared at the blonde "And weren't you the one who said this?"

"Huh? When did I ever say that?"

"Along with that….." Putting her hands on her hip and puffing her chest out in pride, Kiana continued "I had also heard you mutter that 'Violence is indeed not the answer'"

She spoke with a rough tone, mimicking his voice

"It's the question"

The white-haired girl raised her head smugly, smiling widely

"And the answer is yes!"

She then pointed at him, as if accusing him

"Do you remember now, Adam-senpai?"

The Kaslana tilted her head, looking at him innocently

"...."

….

Adam didn't reply

No- he was just speechless

Is this Tuna doing it on purpose?!

When did this innocent girl turn so devious?

…

"Adam…" Mei's voice broke him out of his thoughts "Did you really say that?"

She was looking at the blonde(?) with a look of doubt on her face

Normally, Adam is quiet, elegant, and calm

So she could never imagine him saying such crude and barbaric words.

"....."

Adam straightened his body, remaining silent for a few moments

Then, he raised his head, and with a serious voice he said-

"Perhaps"

His face was expressionless, giving nothing away as his answer remained ambiguous

Surprise! A wild Bronya appears!

....Yeah, she finally got introduced in the story. I previously held off because.... Let's just say her introduction is quite troublesome, so I wanted to take care of loose ends first

Also, sorry for the short chapter. I honestly couldn't really bring myself to write as much, so it resulted in this short and somewhat lackluster chapter

...Perhaps playing honkai impact again would rekindle my passion?

Anyway, I just find myself having trouble writing something meaningful before the 3rd eruption- even though those scenes need to be written as a prelude
