The plastic bowl clattered against the table, its contents splattering.
Xia Lihua hadn't seen this coming.
She stared dead straight at Chao Fu. Her eyes were fierce and wild causing Chao Fu to swallow spit.
The salad was juicy, and bits of cucumber and tomato clung to Xia Lihua's face and hair. Wet juices trickled down her cheeks.
"Oh my god!" Bo Yanyan exclaimed, hastily using her fingertip to flick off the vegetable pieces from Xia Lihua's face.
Xia Lihua really looked like a mess.
"Why would you do that?" Xia Lihua's voice resonated with an unexpected depth and she clutched the glass of milk, tightly.
Chao Fu was feeling slightly guilty for acting on her instincts, but when she saw the daring glint in Xia Lihua's eyes, her guilt vanished.
"Because you deserved it!" Chao Fu said, loudly. "No wonder even your cousin isn't fond of you! If I could, I'd throw that salad at you again."
"Say that one more time."
