บท 92: The Cause

Seraphine's grief hung heavy in the air as she knelt on the floor of our underground refuge. Her sobs echoed through the expanse, a mournful lament for the Eamon we had lost. Izzy and Evie stood close by, their expressions a mix of shock and sadness.

"We'll need to find out if there are any more shape-shifters down here," I reiterated, my voice somber. "We can't let Eamon's… sacrifice be in vain."

With a heavy heart, we helped Seraphine through her grief and walked back towards the inn where we had taken shelter. The task of informing the other residents of the potential threat weighed on me, but I knew it was necessary.

As we entered the inn, we found a group of people who were awake because of the commotion.

I approached them, my tone steady as I explained the situation after asking of them to call the guards.
