Putting both of his hands together, he began to channel his energy, forming a dazzling golden energy orb that shimmered with raw power. The orb pulsed and thrummed, growing brighter and more intense, until with a swift motion, Liam directed it towards William. A golden beam of light, radiant and deadly, lanced out from the orb, streaking through the air with pinpoint accuracy.

William's instincts kicked in again, his mind and body working as one, finely tuned to the life-or-death situation he found himself in. A black chain shot out from his hand, its dark links twisting and writhing as they wrapped around the railing of a nearby house. With a powerful tug, William yanked himself out of the path of the golden beam, his body arcing through the air in a graceful maneuver that defied gravity.
