Where Zuri was from, anyone could fall in love with anyone and once they wanted to be together, no one came in between them. So, she couldn't understand what Jaden meant by what he said about them facing obstacles just because they were in love.

Her mind went to the discussion – not a discussion but the period Kane felt he could tell her awful things. There were things she had not asked Jaden thinking it would cause him sadness. But this time, Zuri felt that she needed to clarify some things so that she could know what she was facing.

"Can I ask you some questions?" Zuri said as she allowed herself to be carried by Jaden. He placed her in between his legs even as they remained seated on the floor of the prince's office.

"Anything, Zu," Jaden said with a small smile on his face. He bent his head downward and his nose touched Zuri's hair. Jaden took a long sniff and smiled even wider.
