บท 264: Chapter 265: Award Doctor Strange a Divine Dragon!

Hank Pym abruptly turned around and saw a figure standing there.

This person didn't look like anyone Hank knew, not like Scott Lang or Bill Foster. They were wearing a hood and a mask, obscuring their features completely, slowly making their way toward Hank.

Hank Pym immediately felt nervous and instinctively stepped back.

Just when he thought he was going to die there, the newcomer extended their hands and touched his temples.

Suddenly, the illusions vanished, and Hank Pym saw the real situation.

The room, Scott Lang, all of it was non-existent; he was still in the Quantum Realm.

However, the person with the hood and mask was still in front of him. This person had pulled Hank Pym out of the illusion.

Before Hank Pym's eyes, the person took off the hood and removed the mask, revealing a face he had longed for day and night.

This mysterious individual was none other than Hank Pym's goal for this trip – his wife, Janet van Dyne!

After being separated for so long, their first meeting, their gazes exchanged silently, their eyes brimming with tears.

Then, with a soft sound, the two fiercely embraced each other.

"Really sorry," Hank Pym apologized after a moment, "It took me this long to find you."

"No, no, you're here now," Janet van Dyne how could she blame Hank Pym when he had finally come, "Let's go home."

"I thought I was going to die, but that energy you emitted..." Hank Pym couldn't help but ask, "How did you do that?"

"I'm not the woman I was thirty years ago," Janet van Dyne said, "This place changes you. Adaptation is one aspect, but there's also evolution."

"What do you mean?" Scott Lang chimed in, "After spending thirty years in the Quantum Realm, Janet gained superpowers?"

"It seems so," Scott Lang replied, "She easily pulled Hank Pym out of the illusion."

"The Quantum Realm can actually grant people superpowers?" Nick Fury's gaze flickered, his thoughts unclear.

"Fury, you're not thinking about this again, are you?" Tony Stark read the expression on Nick Fury's face and knew what he was considering, "I advise you to abandon this idea as soon as possible. Not to mention whether spending enough time in the Quantum Realm grants superpowers, even if it does, do you think it's easy to return from the Quantum Realm? Don't assume it's feasible just because Hank found Janet in a video. I can responsibly tell you that when people get lost in the Quantum Realm for 30 years, they're truly lost, and they can't find their way back! Janet is the exception among exceptions!"

"Indeed, Janet said that the Quantum Realm allows for evolution, but this evolution might not necessarily be a positive thing," Steve Rogers said, "Remember the zombie parallel universe? We know that the origin of the zombies was because Hope saved her mother, but we didn't know the specifics. Now we do – after spending thirty years in the Quantum Realm, Janet turned into a zombie."

"So, it's not worth the risk," Bruce Banner added.

"I never said I wanted to use the Quantum Realm to produce superpowers, so everyone can stop talking about it, okay?" Nick Fury said.

"Lab coordinates not found, cannot ascend." In the video, Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne sat in the quantum ship, but they couldn't take off.

"I should probably tell you about the situation up there," Hank Pym said.

What situation was he talking about?

Up there, Scott Lang was in quite a precarious situation.

He was submerged in the water, his consciousness hazy.

However, his back-up had arrived at this moment.

"After you've secured the lab, Scott might be running out of breath," Hope van Dyne instructed Luis and then shrank in size, diving into the water.

However, Luis's attempt to retrieve the lab wasn't going smoothly. Ghost, Ava Starr, suddenly appeared. With a swift kick, she knocked him down, snatched the remote, and then pressed it in front of everyone's eyes.

Boom!

In an instant, the lab, initially the size of a suitcase, expanded into a towering skyscraper.

"The lab has been restored, it can ascend," a prompt sounded from the quantum ship within the Quantum Realm.

"They've done it!" Hank Pym exclaimed in joy.

What he didn't know was that things weren't exactly as he imagined. It wasn't Scott Lang or Hope van Dyne who had achieved this; it was Ava Starr.

The lab was still taken by someone else.

"Let's go see our daughter," Janet van Dyne was also extremely happy.

Hank Pym pushed the control lever, and the quantum ship began to ascend.

In any case, the lab was now open, and Hank Pym could finally return.

Hope van Dyne was completely unaware of Hank Pym's return journey. Her focus was entirely on Scott Lang.

"Scott, wake up!" Hope van Dyne bounced around Scott Lang, attempting to wake him up, but her efforts were in vain.

Hope van Dyne gave up on that method and instead adjusted the regulator on Scott Lang's waist.

She intended to resize Scott Lang to normal human size, but the problematic suit couldn't change size as she pleased. Scott Lang ended up being ant-sized.

Now things were a bit tricky. This wasn't land; it was seawater. Although it wasn't as pitch-black as the deep sea, the visibility was still poor. A lump the size of an ant was difficult to find in the water.

But then again, Hope van Dyne was his partner.

Eventually, Hope van Dyne managed to find Scott Lang, holding him in her hand and raising her hand above the water's surface, allowing Scott Lang to breathe.

The scene darkened, and the video ended there.

"Damn it, why didn't it play through to the end?" The video stopped here, and Nick Fury felt incredibly frustrated, "Did Hank Pym and his wife successfully return from the Quantum Realm?"

Nick Fury was quite concerned about this, especially considering that in an alternate universe, the world had turned into a zombie apocalypse due to a similar incident.

If the video showed that Hank Pym successfully saved Janet, he would feel much more at ease about the situation.

But unfortunately, the video didn't continue.

They were so close to the end, just one final scene, and they cut it off! Absolutely infuriating!

"It's highly likely that they succeeded in returning," Tony Stark held an optimistic view, "You must have noticed, Hank Pym's biggest obstacle to rescuing his wife wasn't the technology; his research on the Quantum Realm is quite deep. Their main obstacle was Ava Starr."

"Ava Starr might have entered the lab ahead of them and seemed to have taken the upper hand, but she has a fatal weakness – she lacks the technical expertise and understanding of the Quantum Realm," Steve Rogers chimed in, "While Scott might not understand it, Hope does."

"Since Hope managed to rescue Scott from the water, they will soon enter the lab, just slightly later than Ava," Clint Barton said, "With two against one, the chances of them rescuing Hank Pym are very high."

"Since everyone is so optimistic about the outcome, it's time to tell Hank Pym about his wife still being in the Quantum Realm, right?" Bruce Banner said, "The Quantum Realm is a critical element for the future, and Janet's understanding of it makes her crucial."

"I'm curious about what kind of evolution Janet underwent in the Quantum Realm," Natasha Romanoff said, "What kind of superpowers does she possess?"

[Fourth question begins, please prepare.

[Question: Where did the Dark Doctor Strange Stephen Strange get his black cape from?]

[A: When the Ancient One split Doctor Strange in half, the cape was also split in half, and Dark Stephen Strange turned it black.]

[B: Stolen from a dragon.]

[C: Stolen from an insect.]

[D: Gifted by the sorcerer Kaecilius.]

If you answer correctly, you'll be rewarded with a divine dragon. If you answer incorrectly, one year of your lifespan will be deducted.

"Divine dragon!" Seeing this reward, Scott Lang, who had just answered the previous question, expressed envy, "Why does Doctor Strange get a divine dragon as a reward, while I get insects!"

"Because you're 'Ant-Man,' and you're essentially an insect," Tony Stark said, "While Stephen is the Sorcerer Supreme, so he deserves a dragon."

"I wonder if this divine dragon is the kind of dragon we imagine?" Natasha Romanoff asked.

Dragons, a concept not limited to Eastern culture, have numerous myths in Western cultures as well. Unlike the auspicious and divine creatures in the East, Western dragons are often depicted as malevolent beings.

However, everyone had been in the "Answering Space" for quite some time and knew that it wouldn't deceive them, so there was no suspicion regarding the dragon reward.

"Come to think of it, the Dark Strange's hands once turned into claws, I wonder if they resembled dragon claws," Scott Lang said.

"It's hard to tell; claws aren't exclusive to dragons," James Rhodes said.

"Speaking of Dark Stephen, I feel like that's a tragedy, a colossal tragedy. To betray the Ancient One, to betray this world, to even betray himself, all for the woman he loved. He wagered everything, sacrificed the world, only to realize in the end that he was wrong," Wanda Maximoff said.

"Indeed, it's a tragedy," Natasha Romanoff agreed deeply with Wanda Maximoff's words, "I can't even imagine how he would spend the latter part of his life now."

"The whole world has already been destroyed, leaving only him," Thor said, "It does seem very lonely."

"Pity the man who must be blamed, Dark Stephen's ending might be tragic, but he brought it upon himself," Tony Stark didn't feel an ounce of sympathy for the Dark Doctor Strange, "No one forced him to do those things. On the contrary, we all tried to stop him from making mistakes, but he never listened to good advice and just went his own way. We're all adults here; we need to face the consequences of our own actions."

"Guys? Can we criticize the other me later?" Stephen Strange reminded from the side, "Isn't answering the questions more important than this?"

"Answering the questions is more important, but this question is completely baffling." Peter Quill said, "There are no clues whatsoever, so there's no way to analyze it."

"Well, it's not entirely without clues," Phil Coulson asked, "Stephen, do you know this sorcerer, Kaecilius?"

"Never heard of him," Stephen Strange shook his head.

"Alright, it does seem to be completely clueless," Phil Coulson said.

"I think we can eliminate option A," Stephen Strange said, "Although that option seems reasonable, it doesn't make sense. That's my cape; it enhances my power. It's not like buying a purse; would I care about the color?"

"It's hard to say, the tougher a guy is on the outside, the more likely he's hiding a little girl inside. Who knows, maybe even your underwear is pink," Tony Stark said.

"If you're curious, I can show you," Stephen Strange looked at Tony Stark.

"..." Tony Stark hadn't expected the other person to be even more audacious than himself and quickly said, "No thanks, I'm good."

"Other than A, it's hard to eliminate B, C, and D." Steve Rogers said, "But I'm leaning towards the answer being between B and C."

"I think the same." Bruce Banner said, "Compared to being given the cape, I feel like Dark Stephen might have taken it by force."

"Then it's option B, right?" Thor said, "It's hard to imagine a bug having a cape."

"Thor, you don't find it strange that Doctor Strange has a cape made from dragon scales?" Loki looked at Thor disdainfully, "If I were to choose, I'd actually go for option C! The most absurd option is often the correct answer; the Answering Space has pulled this kind of trick more than once."

"Are you choosing C just for that reason?" Thor disagreed with Loki's viewpoint, "Yes, the Answering Space has played tricks a few times, but that's the exception. More often than not, the answers are reasonable and logical choices."

"So, do you think any of the four options right now are reasonable and logical?" Loki retorted.

"A and D." Thor thought for a moment and said.

"Are you serious about A? Haven't we just excluded that one?" Loki said.

"I believe in what I find reasonable and logical, and I find A to be reasonable and logical." Thor said confidently, "So what if it was a trick? Wasn't he right?"

"Thor, Stephen's point was directed at that." Steve Rogers said, "Even after turning dark, Stephen Strange is still Stephen Strange. Other than the darkness, his character and personality remain the same. If Stephen says he wouldn't do it, then he definitely wouldn't."

"For this question, other than excluding A, none of the other three options can be ruled out." Stephen Strange said, "However, I do think Loki has a point. Since it's all based on feelings anyway, I'll go with Loki's suggestion this time and choose the most ludicrous one. I choose C!"
