Xaviera turned around, as the man kept getting closer. Having no time to evade, she was cornered in a narrow space. Slowly, she looked up into his deep, light brown eyes.
A meaningful smile played at the corner of his mouth as he lowered his head, adoringly and tenderly, looking at her.
Xaviera's heart trembled, a familiar feeling rushed to her mind. Her head lowered in a panic, but his hot breath couldn't be ignored, touching her body.
Caleb squinted his eyes, an arm resting against the wall beside her, narrowing the distance between them. His voice was hoarse yet gentle, "Miss Alf?"
Xaviera's breath almost ceased, her mind blank for a moment, "...Caleb?"
She stretched out her hand to separate their bodies, refusing his approach. His eyes lowered, and he hummed softly, teasing in his tone, "Not many people dare to call me by my first name. It's strange of you to be so bold upon our first meeting, Miss Alf. Do we know each other?"
