"You wouldn't," said Ina. "Would you?"
Kier touched the grass at his feet, spoke Magic, and two golden lines extended from that point on the ground to form an immense circle before him on the ground. Its perimeter glowed intensely for a few seconds but faded soon after. "I'm sure the answer's yes, but I'd still like to confirm what exactly you're asking about."
"These two." Ina pointed at the hovering guide and swordsman as she handed Kier a small potion. "You wouldn't offer them to it, would you?"
Kier poured Ina's concoction on the ground where the circle's line had appeared. A single file of night flowers bloomed along it almost instantly.
"Am…" Kier was about to comment on the uselessness of Ina's potion when black water pooled at his feet. It slowly rose as if in a wave and changed its shape to that of an enormous humanoid monster, as tall as the tallest tree of the forest.
"Well, look at that. Wouldn't you offer it something to calm it down?" he demanded.
