The Halloween feast was always fantastic, and everyone loved this holiday. Not only did they get half a day off, but Hogwarts also prepared entertainment programs every year, followed by a rich banquet in the evening. Just the thought of the sumptuous dishes prepared by the house-elves made everyone's mouths water.
At least, that was the case before the arrival of the Boy Who Lived, Harry Potter.
As it had been raining all day, Albert and his friends spent the afternoon in the common room playing Wizarding cards. The popularity of this card game had increased, and many students were now interested in it. However, the main issue was the limited number of card decks available, which made it difficult for some interested students to get their hands on one. The last meeting of the Wizarding Card Club addressed this issue, as they had over twenty members now, including Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff students.
As for Slytherin, no students had joined yet, and they were not particularly welcome, nor did others want to play with them.
In the evening, Albert and Fred walked with a few others to the Great Hall for the Halloween Eve banquet.
The Halloween feast followed the usual routine, with Professor Dumbledore standing up to say a few words first. He smiled at all the students and said, "Happy Halloween, and... let's eat!"
As always, his concise speech earned applause and cheers from everyone.
"Sounds great! Let's eat!" Albert joined the applause with others. He found Professor Dumbledore simply adorable and so attuned to everyone's desires. The empty plates were quickly filled with food by the house-elves.
Albert, Fred, George, and Lee Jordan filled their plates with their favorite dishes.
"I love this steak," Lee Jordan mumbled with a mouthful of beef, making his speech unclear.
"Bats... on your head," Fred suddenly said while eating a turkey leg.
Lee Jordan instinctively raised his head, but there was nothing on his head. He then realized he had been fooled and glared at Fred, who pretended to be innocent and continued to bury his head in his food.
Albert was eating a fried pork chop, which tasted quite good.
"Look over there..." George nudged Albert's arm with his elbow and nodded towards a certain plate. On it was the familiar sight of potato and egg pancakes.
"This tastes pretty good," Shanna said as she ate the potato and egg pancakes. Upon seeing the two boys looking at her strangely, she asked in confusion, "Is there something wrong?"
"That's the food Albert taught the house-elves to make last time," George explained, winking at Shanna.
"I didn't know you're also an expert in food," Shanna said, but before she could finish, she heard the sound of a fork dropping into a plate. They all turned their heads and saw Lee Jordan pointing towards the stage. The Hogwarts choir had made their entrance, but their costumes were rather amusing.
There was no other choice; each student was dressed in the colors and styles representing their respective houses. Albert couldn't help but laugh when he saw the Slytherin students in their green robes and pointed hats.
Actually, regular wizarding robes would have been just fine, but it seemed to have a greater impact on the students this way.
The Hogwarts choir was still very good, especially considering that it was Halloween and they didn't have any additional performance programs. Listening to their enthusiastic singing while holding frogs in their hands made the grand chorus surprisingly enjoyable to Albert.
The banquet lasted for a long time, until all the food in the plates had vanished and the golden plates returned to their pristine state. With Professor Dumbledore's announcement, the Halloween Eve feast came to an end.
"Feeling full and sleepy!" Albert stifled a yawn. He had eaten too much, even devouring a large piece of chocolate cake for dessert.
"I'm planning to go on a nighttime adventure and pay a visit to Snape's private materials storage," Albert suddenly announced to his roommates. Just then, a flash of lightning streaked across the window, and thunder shook the glass panes.
"Isn't this a bit rushed?" Fred furrowed his brow slightly. They weren't prepared for this, and it didn't quite fit Albert's usual cautious character.
"Don't worry, I plan to drink a bit of this," Albert said with a smile as he pulled out the Felix Felicis he had obtained last time, wobbling it in front of his three friends. He reassured them, "With Felix Felicis, I can ensure the plan's success."
"Wow, you're actually willing to use Felix Felicis."
The three of them were surprised, as Felix Felicis was a valuable substance that money couldn't buy. With Felix Felicis as a guarantee, their inner worries were immediately put to rest.
"Isn't it a bit of a waste?" Lee Jordan grumbled.
"Not much is needed, just a small sip. Three or four hours of good luck will be enough!" Albert said. "Now, let's rest. We'll get active again at midnight."
Finally, Albert was awakened by someone mumbling incomprehensible words. He glanced at his pocket watch; it was one in the morning.
After splashing water on his face to fully awaken himself, Albert lifted the small vial containing Felix Felicis and carefully measured a mouthful, drinking it down.
"How do you feel?" George asked in a hushed voice.
Albert didn't respond, closing his eyes to sense the changes brought on by the Felix Felicis.
An extremely exhilarating feeling surged through his body, as if there were infinite possibilities, and Albert felt like he could do anything and that everything would be a piece of cake.
"Wonderful, absolutely wonderful," Albert said with great confidence. "Tonight, I'll go by myself."
"What?" Fred, George, and Lee Jordan exclaimed in surprise, unable to help complaining, "You're not planning to bring us along? How can we have a fun time together then?"
"No, I'll go alone," Albert said confidently. "I feel that I'm best following my instincts, and everything will be accomplished smoothly."
"Are you sure you don't need our help?" Fred asked in astonishment.
"Yes, trust me, I know what I'm doing," Albert said. He pointed his wand at himself and cast a flawless Disillusionment Charm. With such a masterful execution of the spell, even the professors at Hogwarts might not be able to find him.
"Perfect," Albert mumbled, feeling like he had just given himself a superpowerful buff. The feeling was incredible.
"Is this really Felix Felicis?" George held up the bottle in front of him, looking at his companion. Albert's current state was making them worried, as they had never seen him so arrogant and full of himself.
Especially Albert's hearty laughter, it made the three of them somewhat concerned.
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing," Albert confidently walked towards the door, and before leaving, he said, "In an hour, come down and open the door for me."
Invisible, Albert made his way downstairs, with Fred and the other two providing cover, and slipped out of the entrance to the common room.
