บท 19: 19. Cilia libenon

Cilia ran her hand through the hair, her eyes trailing at the boy pointing his blade at her. The same boy, she had teased last night.

He was fragile but had sharp sights, he was almost prognostic of her attacks but was not able to fend himself due to his poor agility.

"Why not just let me gut you?" She said simply in a matter of a factly tone.

Noah scowled at her words and then darted at her. She simply stood unaffected by his slow speed and swung her dagger, he dodged and grabbed a stone from the ground, and aimed at her head.

His move caught her off guard as the stone whacked hard over her eyebrows, she stumbled putting her hand over her head.

Noah gave a vertical slash feeling he had caught her off guard. The blade penetrated the leather armor over her abdomen as it went upward.

She cried out jumping back, the wound could have been worse if she had not been wearing leather armor. A trail of blood started up gushing down yet there was a furious expression on her face.

Only if Noah had a little more strength he could have easily damaged her more deeply nevertheless, he did injure her and he felt at ease.

"How's that?" Noah cracked up.

"How dare you!" She growled. "I am going to kill you for that"

The explosions reverberated behind Dan as he kept himself on his toes. He was trying his uttermost to avoid her deadly spells, he regretted selecting Amalia as his opponent.

He knew if he got a chance he could easily overwhelm the magician girl but due to not knowing the basic protection magic he was working hard for the battle. Her fire attacks were no joke, they were even capable of melting their gears. He wished only that he had enhanced weapons he could have done something to hurt her.

He and his friend assembled while the mage took out a bottle and drank the purple liquid inside it.

"Can you fight?" Dan asked his friend who was burned badly, his friend's hand shook, and the shoe almost melted by her flames.

He nodded, drinking a healing potion. A dim light surrounded him as the visibly, burned skin began recovering at a slower rate. He now stood bare feet preferring not to wear the same shoe that melted by the heat of Amalia's flames.

"This bitch is hard to deal with," He said meekly, throwing the small glass bottle as it shattered on the stone slab.

"Keep your distance, sooner or later she will run out of mana potions" Dan replied.

Another hand The axe and steel swords clashed with each other creating sparks.

Scott took many steps back as he repelled Rex's heavy blows. With each blow, his sword shook violently incapable to withstand heavy strikes.

Rex was a fierce warrior known for his courage to face any adversary. He was skilled in close combat and usually enjoyed every battle but this time there was no hint of pleasure on his face, all he showed was bitterness towards his opponent.

Scott's steel sword snapped as he got flown away by the impact. He gritted his teeth glaring at his sword.

"I am going to cut you in half like your sword" Rex spat clasping his Axe more tightly.

Scott laughed spitefully as he sat on his knees, he then examined the hefty wound on his chest, it was oozing, "You are indeed a stronger opponent Rex, but you know what, nobody can kill me" He taunted.

Rex tightened his jaws as he aimed to take his head off but Scott swiftly rolled aside and crawled to the red sword.

He placed his hand on the handle showing an eager expression. He twisted the sword and then pulled it out from Rena's lifeless body. The body raised a few inches and then plopped down in response.

Rex closes his eyes, tightly. The sight was unbearable for him. Only if she had not sided with a person like Scott she would have been alive and fighting alongside them. He inwardly cursed at Scott.

The wound on Scott's chest no longer oozed as if something deterred the flow. He was amazed by the work of the Blood sword, it nearly stopped bleeding, and now all he had to do was complete his task by killing Rex.

"You're next my friend"

Both ran to each other continuing their battle trying to take each other's lives.

"You rat" Shouted Celia throwing a powerful kick but in return, Noah blocked it using his elbow.

Noah wailed in pain. Her kick was powerful enough to send a shudder back into his bones. He again parried her blow which was aimed at an abdomen.

He was gasping for air and the hand that held the blade quivered, the grip was easing the more he parried her fierce blows.

The fight between level Three and level Seven dragged on much longer, in terms of the standards of Britannia. No low-level warrior could hold this much longer on his own unless he had some high-tier treasures with him.

Noah was holding onto his own only due to the necklace and his skin refinement which worked as armor for him.

He had to acknowledge that with his current level, he could not defeat her even if she acted recklessly and provided many opportunities for him to finish her off. There was a wide gap between them, in level as well as experience. She was a bandit and killing was her daily job unlike him who was barely able to defeat rabbits.

The kick sent him scrambling to the ground, it was getting difficult for him to hold on to any longer as the fight progressed. He realized his stamina level was worse than his swordplay.

He lay looking at the ceiling as he heard her thumping footsteps getting closer and closer, her expression was of a pissed-off cat who got irritated by the mice who kept getting up and ruining all the fun.

She stood over him, annoyed with his ugly expression. "die"

Noah did not reply.

At the current moment, only one thing came into his mind and that was his ability to shadow strike. It will allow him to catch her off guard and silence her for good but if he were to use it now then he cannot use it again for a day.

It was the only limitation of the ability.

She was vulnerable among them and most likely to fall for this trick as she always acted rashly and carelessly if he chose to use it here then he would not have his trump card for future battles but if he did not use it now seeing his current position he was quite sure there will be no future for him.

Quickly he lifted his hand aiming to strike and the next moment he was behind her. He trusted the dagger sideways into her neck pressing as hard as he could to make sure it penetrated until it reached out from the other side.

Her eyes were wide as blood filled her open mouth and dropped down to her leather armor. Her body trembled and the dagger slipped from her hand.

Noah pulled out the dagger and kicked her body away shoving it to fall to her front face. It fell over with a thud.

His battle with Celia was over and he had emerged as a victor but there was no smile on his face despite how much he hated her and wanted to finish her on his own.

The reason was not that he felt bad, no. It was because he was unhappy with his performance. He almost died at her hands but somehow managed to turn the table with the shadow strike skill.

Noah unhurriedly cast his gaze across the battlefield. He was the only one who had finished his opponent as disbelief was clear on others' faces.

The two bandits were the ones who were shocked among them. They were trembling in outrage as the mere boy killed their partner in crimes.

"Get him!" Dan shouted.
