Leon noticed that the quest board on the virtual screen was synchronizing. He also noticed that another quest had popped up on the quest board.

-First Contact-Part 2
Objective: Collect 50 Different Species Of Pokémon Native to the Hoenn region. [10/50]
[Quest Rewards]
• Silver Chest
The number of Pokémon he needed to capture had increased fivefold! Leon wasn't worried about it since he was up for the challenge.
"Nice! A Silver Chest must have some amazing rewards inside." Leon smiled and stroked his chin with anticipation.
He checked the task he had in the quest log, but there were no more quests. It seemed that the log only wanted him to catch Pokémon for the time being.
'As for this Bronze chest, I'll wait until I get home to open it.' Leon shifted his attention to the map.
'Oh, right, this map displays that Elemental chest location a mile away.' Leon decided that he would wait to get this chest.
He turned and began to help Lars but by this point, he was nearly done setting up camp. Leona had also recovered after some time, and the experience was frightening.
Lars started to fry up some burgers with some Tauros meat. There were buns, cheese, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, salt, pepper, and sauce.
"Oh, that smells good. I can't wait to dig in." Leon took a sniff and couldn't help but say.
"Leona also bought a large jar of pre-made oran berry juice. So we can have some drink on the side, if that isn't what you want then we have water." Lars was the one making the food over a battery-powered skillet.
"Leon. What was that Pokémon from before called? I didn't really get to see it well before I was attacked."
"The Pokémon is called Shroomish. I'm sure you've seen it in the guide, you may not remember." Leona was quite interested in Shroomish, she had only gotten a brief look at it before falling over.
"I remember the name but I don't recall its exact appearance. I have the Pokémon guide with me, so I'll show you?"
Leona seemed adamant about seeing this Pokémon, so Leon obliged. Leon flipped through the pages until he arrived at the desired Pokémon's entry.
"Oh, I remember this Pokémon. I want one of these, they're so cute!" Despite her bad experience with Shroomish, she still found it attractive.
"Once we get to the mainland, you can catch one. We'll be taking a ship to Slateport City, then we'll have to take another ship ride to Petalburg City." Leon explained that she could catch Shroomish in Petalburg Woods.
"I'll do that when we leave from this terrible island." Leona wasn't in a rush, she already had to get used to her newly acquired Swablu.
"Hmm, its evolution's attack stat is so high." Leona gazed at Breloom's attack stat and was stunned.
This Pokémon guide was unique and didn't appear in the world with such details. This book could be said to have come from Leon's original world, so it had things that wouldn't normally appear.
"That's right. A Base 130 attack stat is really high for any Pokémon. I suggest you get an adamant nature Breloom. If you can't, then you can change its nature to it later."
This was something Leon had already taught them. He taught them the importance of Pokemon natures and base stats.
"You said there were ways to change natures, and that was with special plants, right?" Suddenly, Leona remembered what Leon had said two days ago.
"That's right. I'm not sure how rare they are, but if you can get one it will change its nature."
The food was finally done, they ate hamburgers with juice. Leona had already pre-cut the vegetables before coming on this trip.
Leon was the first to finish his food, so he went into the tent to lie down. After some time, they all came into the tent to lie down.
Leona lay in the middle and cuddled with her Swablu, who was soft and fluffy. Lars was the same, and he cuddled with his Electrike who was furry. Leon didn't have such a fluffy or furry Pokémon, they were all hard and uncomfortable.
He could only use a pillow for comfort.
Rumble!
Suddenly, another downpour started. This left everyone in the tent speechless, but they were used to it.
It was a good thing they put the most important equipment away.
Lars talked about Pokémon battles and how Leon learned to battle. Leon just remembered some things from the show, and that's all. However, he told his brother that he watched a few television shows at the Pokémon Center.
Leon mentioned his plan to sell the additional Pokémon they had caught, which would help them when the ferry arrived next month. After chatting for a while they all fell asleep, but they instructed their Pokémon to stay alert.
As time passed, the relentless rain continued, making everyone feel even sleepier than usual.
Electrike raised its head from Lars and sniffed the air. It seemed to have caught a scent and heard activity outside the tent, prompting it to alert Lars by standing up.
Beldum opened its eye because of Electrike's sudden but strange movements. Electrike quickly awakened Lars, while Beldum did the same for Leon.
"What's going on?" Leon turned to Lars, who was located on the other side of the tent. Leona lay in the middle, while they slept on the ends.
"Electrike woke me up, I think there's something outside of the tent." Lars' eyebrows knitted as he said.
Shortly after, Leona was awakened by Leon.
"Beldum, do you sense anything outside?" Leon asked.
"I don't..." Beldum didn't sense anything outside of the tent. It was confused as to why this was, its senses never failed it so much.
"I'll check..." Leon slowly went over with Beldum to peek out of the tent zipper.
"Be careful." Leona rubbed her eyes and said.
Leon checked and first, he didn't see anything due to the rain. Focusing his eyes, Leon saw several small figures.
Leon recognized them right away, as a group of Poochyena. They appeared to be eating something close to their camping spot. There were about 3-5 of them from what Leon could see.
"Lars, where did you dump the leftovers from the skillet? Did you dump them next to our camping area?" Leon turned to Lars and asked.
"Ah, yeah, I dumped them about five meters from our camp." Lars' mouth twitched, perhaps this was a miscalculation on his part.
"... ..."
"Well, we got company and they're scavenging what little bits of food they can find." Leon analyzed each Poochyena.
This wasn't the type of Pokémon he wanted to add to his team roster, but he needed it for obvious reasons. Leon gazed stopped at a Poochyena that seemed bigger than its peers.
______
<Name: Poochyena♀
<Type: Dark
<Level: 10
<Nature: Naughty
<Aptitude: F++
<Ability: Rattled (Hidden Ability)
<Moves: Tackle, Howl, Sand Attack, Bite,
"It's not bad, according to what's most common in the wild these days." Leon also noticed something and was enlightened.
Beldum wasn't able to sense Carvanha, but it wasn't able to sense Poochyena. Leon recalled when they first came out here, it was able to sense the group of Electrike but not the group of Poochyena.
Indeed, this was most definitely because they were dark types. Its telekinetic sensories probably can't detect a type it's ineffective against.
"Wow, how could I have missed that?" Leon shook his head, but his gaze stayed on the group of Poochyena.
The rest were at level six and below, so they weren't much of a threat. The leader Poochyena had an attack nature and a Stab dark move.
"We need to fight them, after all, we'll sell these Pokémon," Leon said. Everyone nodded, they would need this money when they leave the island.
Leon unzipped the tent before summoning the Aron and Nosepass. His gaze wasn't wrong, there were indeed five Poochyena in total.
What followed was Leon, Lars, and Leona's assault on the group of Poochyena. They all worked together with their available Pokémon to fight this group.
Surprisingly, the group of Poochyena weren't afraid and decided to stand their ground and fight.
"Oh, so you won't be coward away? This will be good." Lars smiled as Leon and Leona proceeded to command their Pokémon.
