Lawrence was distressed watching his precious cat be miserable. He floated at Kevin's side and tried to pacify his cat, but his hand just went past him.

Lawrence looked at his hand at a loss. The shape of his long fingers was definitely there. However, there's a strange gnawing feeling seeing the ground through his hand.
