Sarell watched Reqiel leave without warning with wide eyes, dropping his eyes to his untouched food although he was painfully aware of Prince Velia's presence - why did he make the decision to come?
"Leave us," Prince Velia called into the darkness and Sarell could hear the shuffling of feet as the servants hovering around to attend to the Crown Prince left completely, leaving them all alone.
"I didn't think you would come," Velia said quietly, his voice odd.
Sarell's head shot up without thinking, "I'll always obey your summons," He said intently, meaning his words.
Velia had a faint smile on his face, the expression gentle from the swathes of warm candlelight. "You didn't come of your own volition?"
A brief silence fell, neither of them eating. "I did," Sarell murmured, looking down again.
