Andras found it hard to believe that he had been disquieted by Reqiel. All the birds were unharmed and he had to be the one to kill them while Reqiel looked away and tried to cover up the scent of blood with fruits.

"How did you catch them?" Andras asked curiously, killing the birds for the fun of it as they weren't fit to eat.

Reqiel had to walk some distance away, a fruit in hand. "I found them loitering on the beach."

Andras knew that hawks didn't loiter, they were predatory birds but he didn't mention this, neither did he mention that he ditched the corpses of the hawks and disappeared briefly into the woods only to return with sticks to start a fire and three completely different birds.

It helped that Reqiel couldn't stand to stare at the bloody birds until the scent of roasting meat caught his attention, bringing him over.
