Instantly, he was granted absolute control over the lurking shadows around him.

A thought crossed Val's mind, and its effect played out in real life.

Following his will, like tendrils of the night, the shadows of the dark wizards snaked out, ensnaring them one by one. They couldn't even muster a scream, as Val sealed their mouths shut with their own shadows to ensure their incapacitation would be silent and swift.

In mere moments, the majority of the dark wizards found themselves helplessly bound and muted.

This all happened in the span of a single breath. So no one was able to stop it.
