บท 18: Chapter 18: Getting beaten up
Anik then picks off the knife and stands in his fighting position while gripping the knife.
"Ready?"
Anik nodded.
*Clank*
Luna instantly appears in front of Anik and goes straight to his heart, but he blocks it with his knife.
But the attack didn't stop, and after a few attacks, Luna changed her forward grip into a reverse grip mid-attack. That attack target was the hand which had a knife. Anik didn't want to cut his finger, so he left his knife which got thrown by Luna with her knife.
However, after losing his weapon, he started to run away fast.
All of them were surprised. But Luna and Holden were amused.
"Well, if I didn't have to throw skills, you would have escaped."
Luna said to herself while aiming towards his back, but she wasn't holding the grip but the cutting edge so that the back of the knife hit him.
*Swoop*
The knife went straight to Anik with the back of the knife in front and the edge in back.
But dodge that even without looking at it, which makes everyone shocked.
"Ok. You can stop this fight, you escaped from me. Now come back."
Luna said to Anik.
After Anik came back while thanking Aafia for the assistance, he saw Luna stretching and both Ace and Holden looking at Anik with pity, plus Jonathan was confused.
"Now, I have to get serious now, prepare yourself. I will go full out on you. Since you escaped, maybe you can handle me at full power."
Luna said to Anik while stretching.
Anik feels chill all of a sudden all over his body.
He nervously picked off his knife but was happy that he could bring out her full power.
"Don't hurt me too much, otherwise Dr Sophia will end me."
Anik requested Luna.
"Don't worry, I will not hurt you so bad that you have to go to Sophia."
Lana said to Anik while picking up the knife.
Both positions themselves are opposite to each other.
"Fight"
Holden said this time.
Luna sprints towards him and Anik also tries to move towards her. Luna was the first to attack him, but he was able to block her attack, however barely.
She didn't stop attacking though, and he wasn't able to block or dodge and tried to back up a little far, but Luna didn't let him.
Anik attempts to wide slash her, but she ducks down instantly and sweeps his leg. Anik didn't see that coming fast and fell.
Then, Luna immediately hit his guy with the back of her knife.
He lost the match.
"Get up. We are doing it again."
Luna said to Anik.
Like that, he didn't win any fight between them, but he did improve a lot.
After knife practice, the three boys again practice gun shooting with moving targets, maintaining the gun, how to carry the gun etc.
Anik was getting pretty good at properly holding and shooting the M4, but the aim was still a little bad. The other two were in the same boat.
After that, they learn a bit of hand-to-hand combat with Holden and Ace also teaches them some. Jonathan also teaches us some Jujitsu.
Then, after finishing their training, they hoop on the jeep and go to the base camp.
After reaching the camp the usual gate check, they enter the camp. Dr Sophia was looking at them from the medical centre and signalled for Anik to come over for a checkup.
Others started to laugh when they saw Anik walking towards the medical centre.
Anik was laughing too but nervously.
"Hello, Dr. Sophia, how are you doing today?"
Anik said to Sophia with a smile.
"Doing good and you, any injuries?"
Sophia said to Anik.
"No injuries, not at all."
Anik said to Sophia.
"Why do you care about nobody like me?"
Anik asked Sophia curiously.
"Because I see a boy who has still not grieved to move on like most of us. I want you to grieve, to let go of the past. Don't mindlessly try to get stronger."
Sophia said to Anik seriously.
"Wha..why am I tearing up?"
Anik said while tearing up.
Anik is just a normal boy and was thrown into this world alone without any context to protect himself from going crazy from overthinking. He didn't think and only striven to get stronger to stop thinking about his family, friends, relatives, etc. Even if his end goal was to go back to his home world.
He silently cried for some time and Sophia hugged him.
After crying for 5 minutes, he finally stops and thanks Dr. Sophia for helping him sort out his thoughts and feelings.
Even if his and her situation is wholly different but still, he still has to grieve to move forward even if his family is still alive in another world but to properly function as a human.
"You don't have to call me Dr. Sophia all the time, and just call me Sophia."
Sophia said to Anik with a smile.
"Sure, Sophia"
Anik also said to Sophia.
Subsequently, she checked his injured hand and thankfully didn't have any increased sullenness or other injuries, so she let him go.
Anik went outside after saying goodbye to Sophia.
The team saw Anik happy while coming out of the medical centre and were confused.
"Hey, Anik What happened when you were inside? Why do you look so happy?"
Jonathan said to Anik.
" Really? I look happy."
Anik asked, and Jonathan as well as Ace nodded.
"Well, it's nothing. Let's go to get our ration, I am so hungry right now."
Anik said, brushing off the question.

TIME SKIP/A WEEK
7:32 AM IN THE JEEP OUTSIDE
'Just like that, a week has passed, and I think I am stronger than my previous set. I sometimes talk to Sophia as well. Life until now was good, but the real adventure starts now.'
Anik said to himself, reminiscing about the week. He was in the jeep with Jonathan, Ace, Holden and Luna. All of them were geared up to the brim.
Each one of them was carrying an M4 and a knife with them beside Luna who had a handgun, knife and crossbow. They were in tactical gear. This will be their first recon as a team. Holden was driving the jeep.
"Are you ready for your first mission, soldiers?"
Luna said to them.
"Yes, ma'am."
Everybody said to Luna and Holden, drive them out of the camp. And they went to..
