บท 247: Winds of despair

Biting cold winds howled across the mountaintop, blowing the snow all over the place and sweeping away the fallen leaves. The night sky was darkened by several shades, blotting out the stars and dimming the light of the moon.

Xander felt lost as he looked at Leena's cold, lifeless body lying on the ground with snowflakes dancing upon her pale face. He tried to stay strong, but his legs failed him, and he dropped to his knees, overwhelmed by the burden of grief.

The cultists were dead now, but that wasn't going to bring Leena back. Even as Xander's Chronica chimed inside his jacket, he didn't reach for it.
