บท 175: An untimely awakening (2)

Tiva was the only reason Xander was still holding onto life. Ever since Nelly's death, he had done his best to provide for his little niece and never let her shed a tear. But no matter how hard he tried, he knew he was never going to be able to replace her mother.

A difficult decision lay before Xander. He wondered what Nelly would have done in such a situation, and all he could think of were her words of support when he first joined the Dreamwalkers Guild.

"One can never run away from destiny. You may not feel like you're ready, but that doesn't change anything. You were born with a gift, a blessing from the deities. And now it's your duty to do everything in your power to prove that the divines haven't misplaced their trust in you. This is who you are, Meeko. This is your true identity."

Most Dreamwalkers usually awakened their Talents during their teenage years, but the fact that Tiva had claimed her gift at such a tender age, put Xander in a pickle.
