"I promise," Marcella said curtly.
If Tony feels that way, she will listen to him. He is his own person and he could hate someone she loved.
That should be her rational thought.
But she was mad. How could he hate someone she loves and forbid her from bringing her friend to their house?
"I will meet her elsewhere," she added in a dry tone that was void of any affection toward him.
She didn't have to add that sentence. Tony meant the same too even though he didn't say it aloud. He didn't say one word about how she should treat her friend. He told her that he didn't want to see Beth. That meant she could do whatever she wanted.
Rather than telling him that she was not happy that he didn't like her friend, she went back to her passive aggressiveness.
Tony took in a deep breath. He said nothing.
"What? You have nothing more to say?" She tried to provoke him as she was triggered by his silence. "Should I get a list?"
