Dark clouds were brewing aloft, and the ambience was ominous and gloomy, as if the storm that had devastated the lives of thousands would be followed by another of its twin. Crows had fluttered to and fro upon the scene, first a couple and then an entire murder. It was only an hour passed noon, but the summery rays of sun was nowhere to be found, as if the gods themselves were sharing their sorrow with the mourning mortals beneath. The soothing ripples of running water did little to ease the grief of men and women who were congregated at the shaven portion of the River Regalen, the site where the earthly vessel of the late Duke of Regalia would be finally put to rest.
