บท 265: Chapter 265 – Zayla’s hope crashed.

The change in the sound of the beeping monitor attached to Zayla's wrist alerted the doctor that she was awake and she walked over to her.

"How are you, Miss Chance? My name is Doctor Karen." 

The doctor introduced herself politely, Zayla felt that she was very kind, and maybe, she could get a favor from her. 

Because of the two policemen and two military men around, Zayla did not state what she wanted directly, putting it differently,

"I feel pains all over my body. Can you remove the cuffs?" 

She sounded as if she was dying and her throat was already dry and hoarse from not taking in any food or water for days.

The doctor smiled but her response did nothing to warm Zayla's heart.

"I'm sorry Miss Chance. I am only supposed to ensure that you recover but as for those chains, you already know what it entails and the only person who can authorize its removal."
