Naimishi's senses ignited with a jarring intensity when the droplets of blood spewed forth from an injured palm and drenched her face as though the macabre shower of his blood was a chilling offering for daring to violate her.

"My hand!" A cry tore from the Hunan captain's lips as he clutched his wrist. Before his mind could grapple with the chaos, a second blade whirled in the air and plunged into his stomach, sending him crashing to the ground. "Ah! Who dares to kill me."

"Your death, bastard."

Naimishi heard a voice, a deep resonance akin to a mighty ocean. Her eyes prickled with a presence behind her while her ears registered the faint but unmistakable tempo of approaching footsteps. Her senses bristled with anticipation, waiting to see him. Soon enough, he appeared before her, filling her vision with his presence.
