บท 22: Fall from stairs

Sabrina's anger surged as she witnessed her husband compliment Rihritha. The guards and soldiers stood in stunned silence. The King's shameless flirtation with another woman, with the Queen right beside him, sliced through Sabrina like a dagger of humiliation. What on earth did her husband see in that woman that made her appear sexy? After all, her gown looked like a lowly maid in the palace, and she had no expensive jewellery adorning her neck.

Sabrina's urge to lash out at her husband simmered within, but the presence of the guards and soldiers held her back. She couldn't afford the poison of gossip that would spread like wildfire in the Kingdom by the next morning. With a tight-lipped smile, Sabrina looked at Rihritha. "Don't mistake my husband's words, Rihritha. He often likes to play jokes on the ladies. What he really meant was that you look beautiful. Isn't that right, your Majesty?"
