บท 209: The winner of the duel

The arena fell into an eerie silence. While assassins engaged in duels, few aimed for lethal outcomes; most would concede defeat when victory seemed impossible. The last fatal duel etched in their memory involved two assassins from rival guilds settling a lethal score, leaving one lifeless.

However, how could Hawk have conceeded defeat when before he could utter a word, Jiang Yue had already swiftly plunged a knife into his chest.

Though death wasn't unfamiliar to the assassins watching the duel, nor was death new during these duels, however they still couldn't help but shudder seeing someone ruthlessly ending a fellow assassin's life without a moment's pause, denying any chance for surrender.

Jiang Yue's gaze was fixated on the dagger embedded in Hawk's chest. After a contemplative pause, she retrieved the blade, methodically cleansing it on Hawk's shirt before seamlessly returning it to the holster strapped at her waist.
