After the little examination from Flock, he informed us that he and Jonas were travelling out of the country tomorrow night. Apparently, Knoxwell had left without telling them, just in the same way as he came, and well, they naturally went after him.

Flock made an offer to take Wendy back with him, but Kian shut him down before he could finish his offer. For exactly the same reasons as I wanted to. First and foremost, she was part of my pack, and my responsibility. And more importantly, I wanted that child nowhere near Knoxwell.

Jonas offered to stay back for a while in case any emergency surfaced. I was almost tempted to ask him to stay, but considering the relationship he had with my mate, I took a rain check on that.

Wendy was a quiet kid. She didn't complain like other children, and had grown to wait for things and not ask for them. In more ways than one, I felt like she could be an exact replica of how Kian grew up as a child.
