บท 271: Old Habits

All her life, Eve never thought she would save a demon from a human. In her past, she fought demons and sided with sorcerers. She despised demons deeply. Saving a demon? In her old life, she wouldn't have even considered it. But everything changed.

She closed her eyes, drawing from the essence she acquired from the sorcerer to aid the seven bodies in front of her. The seven people recovered, but Eve didn't wait for them to wake up. "You are back?" Max was calmly sitting, sipping tea, while Lord Onel paced the floor of the tavern.

"You—You were gone for so long... I thought...." Lord Onel's voice trembled with worry.

"Everything is alright now," Eve uttered. "I shall take my leave, Your Highness." Naturally, she did not linger next to them and immediately went back to where she was supposed to be. Inside her room, resting.
