The Hudson Valley is a picturesque valley located across the Hudson River.
The valley is filled with lush vegetation and trees, making for a beautiful environment with fresh air - a natural forest oxygen bar.
Breathing in the pleasant air and listening to the sound of the gurgling stream, one can feel all their tiredness and fatigue dissipate upon arrival.
However, what most people don't know is that a hidden paradise lies deep within the valley.
Jason and his entourage crossed the Hudson River and hiked a dozen kilometers of mountain trails in the dark until they finally discovered a private ranch nestled deep within the vast mountains.
The ranch covers an area of 100 acres, with mountains surrounding it on three sides and a river on the other, offering a stunning view of Manhattan in the distance.
The ranch is owned by Kingpin, who was tired of living in Manhattan apartments and occasionally visits the ranch for a few days to enjoy a comfortable life in a pastoral idyll.
This matter is highly confidential, and only Jason and Wesley's most trusted cronies are fortunate enough to join him here.
"Wow! This ranch is breathtakingly beautiful!" exclaimed the group of prisoners who have never seen such scenery before.
Of course, Kingpin invested in the ranch not to make money but to enjoy life, making it more appropriate to call it a manor than a ranch.
Soon, a row of ranch cabins appeared in front of them.
"Who's there!"
Before they could get any closer, rancher Robert and his wife appeared from behind the door, armed with double-barreled shotguns, and shouted loudly.
Kingpin had bought the farm secretly to avoid any outside disturbance, so he wasn't the legal owner of the ranch.
"Don't worry, Robert, it's me." Jason approached with a smile.
"Jay...son." Robert became even more nervous.
Through TV news and online media, he had learned that Jason was the most wanted man in the United States and had been arrested not long ago. And now he was here wearing a police uniform, so it was obvious what had happened in between.
"Why are you here so late, and who are the people accompanying you?" Robert asked his wife, tightening the shotgun in his hand.
"As you can see, these guys and I have nowhere else to go, so we want to stay here for a while."
"This..."
Robert looked troubled.
He clearly didn't want a group of fugitives living on his property, but he didn't dare to refuse openly.
"This is Kingpin's land. If you and your friends want to stay here, you need to get Kingpin's permission."
As soon as he finished speaking, the prisoners behind Jason burst into laughter.
"That bearded old man! Kingpin has been killed by Jason, and everything he owned now belongs to Jason!"
Robert's face changed drastically, and he stared into Jason's eyes and asked, "Is what they said true?"
Jason replied, "It's true! So you have two options in front of you: either seek revenge for your old boss Kingpin, or..."
Robert was a smart man. He understood instantly what Jason meant, and at the same time made a decision in his heart.
He put away his gun and opened the door. "Mr. Walter, I'll arrange accommodations for you and your friends right away."
"Smart choice." Jason nodded with a smile.
"Everyone, follow me."
The door opened, and Mrs. Robert eagerly led the prisoners to their rooms.
Jason subtly signaled Billy the Buffalo, who nodded in agreement.
Although Roberts seemed trustworthy, one can never be too sure in these situations. Jason needed to take precautions, and assigned Billy, the most dependable prisoner, to keep an eye on the Roberts.
But why not just kill them?
Since the ranch is meant to be a legitimate business, it would be suspicious if the owners suddenly disappeared. Keeping the Roberts alive would help maintain the façade and cover up Jason's true identity.
Accompanied by three accomplices, Jason followed Mr. Robert to the back of the wooden house, where they entered a modern-style villa, the former palace of Jin Bing.
Upon entering, Jason noticed the minimalist design style of the interior, with light tones and a bright, tidy appearance Kingpin's preferred aesthetic.
"Mr. Walter, I come to clean the villa every other week, so you and your friends can check in directly," said Mr. Robert.
"Okay, you can go rest," replied Jason.
After Mr. Robert left, Jason didn't immediately go upstairs. Instead, he gazed at the wooden house in front of them.
Sensing Jason's suspicion, John asked, "Do you suspect them?"
Jason nodded, stating that he was naturally suspicious. Billy, the seemingly most loyal and sensible prisoner, was assigned to monitor the Roberts.
Roberts needed to be monitored, but the wild and rebellious prisoners needed even more oversight. Although Jason and his team were currently in a peaceful period, conflicts were bound to arise eventually. Therefore, it was essential to have a reliable colleague to monitor and handle any problems that may arise.
Out of all the party members present, only Harleen and John had the strength for the job.
Harleen was his women, and Jason wouldn't allow her to stay with a group of men unless he had lost his mind.
John didn't have any complaints and said, "Compared to prison, this place is already heaven. I wouldn't mind sleeping in a cowshed, let alone a log cabin."
After speaking, John left.
On the second floor, Franklin eagerly searched for a room.
Jason was exhausted, he just wanted to take a hot shower, have a good meal, and get some sleep.
Harleen, being an expert in psychology, immediately recognized Jason's needs.
"It's definitely uncomfortable being in wet clothes. You should take a shower, and I'll prepare a late-night snack for you downstairs."
Jason gratefully thanked her and went up to the third floor of the villa.
The third floor was spacious and not divided into individual rooms. Instead, it integrated the bedroom, bathroom, study, dining table, gym, and other rooms together, giving it an open feel.
He turned on the faucet and got into the bathtub, soaking himself in the hot water.
"Ah~~~~~ this is so comfortable!"
Closing his eyes, Jason felt more relaxed than ever.
After soaking for half an hour, he put on his bathrobe and walked out of the bathroom, with steam still rising from his body.
Harleen had already showered and was waiting at the dining table after preparing the meal.
Jason was famished, so he sat down on a chair and started devouring the food.
Harleen's cooking was average, but Jason still praised her: "I swear, this is the best meatloaf I've ever eaten."
Harleen giggled and replied, "Then you should thank the oven!"
Jason was momentarily taken aback, and then he started choking on the meatloaf.
"Take it easy and eat slowly!" Harleen hurriedly ran over to pour water for Jason.
It was only then that he noticed Harleen was wearing only a white silk nightgown, which was an old-fashioned style and probably borrowed from Mrs. Robert.
"What's wrong?" Harleen asked as she approached with a glass of water.
Jason was short of breath and stared at her with intense eyes.
Then, with a thud, he swallowed the meat patty hard!
