บท 4: CHAPTER 4 : HUSBAND AND WIFE
"They went ahead of us to the bureau.They will be acting as our witnesses for the marriage."
"Oh...okay."
They both fell into comfortable silence as the vehicle headed towards their destination.
When they arrived, they found the two witnesses waiting excitedly for them.In less than thirty minutes, they were already declared as husband and wife.
"I can't believe am married." Long Xia said as she stood next to her husband, outside the bureau offices.
"Well, believe it now sweetheart, cause you are mine from now on." Zhao Haoran said next to her ear surprising Long Xia who was unaware of their close proximity.
She instinctively covered her ear because it was ticklish earning a deep chuckle from this male god turned husband. Long Xia noticed that when he smiled, a dimple would form on his left cheek.
Long Xia didn't know what overcame her but the next moment, she leaned forward and kissed his left cheek where the dimple was, surprising the man.
"What was that for?" He asked.
"For our new beginning, hubby."
Zhao Haoran then leaned forward and pecked her lips. Well, he wanted to share a long, deep kiss with his wife but he knew that she wouldn't want that as people were still passing by.
"To new beginnings, my wife."

The little convoy of the Zhao couple entered the enormous gates of Haoran's home and Long Xia was awed and humbled by what she saw.
At the entrance of the mansion, they were welcomed by all the servants and the butlers. After a short tour of the mansion, Haoran brought his wife to the master bedroom, that they would share, located on the third floor. It was designed using soft and soothing grays and silver to create a sparkling, luxurious feel. From the modern crystal chandelier that dangled over the bed to a plush silver gray carpet that practically begged for your bare feet. Long Xia felt that waking up in this bedroom would be like waking up inside a warm storm cloud. From this whole tour, Long Xia felt that this husband of hers really liked a luxurious life. But, honestly, who didn't?
Zhao Haoran looked at the dazed woman next to him.
"You have a shower first and relax on the bed or sofa. I'll call you down when dinner is ready."He said as he removed his suit jacket and tie .
"Wait, you are preparing dinner?" She looked at him dumbfounded.
" Yes. Even though I have chefs around, I prefer doing the cooking myself."
"But I am the wife, I should be the one cooking."
"But you are mine to love, care about and spoil."He said as he kissed her forehead.
Long Xia blushed intensely at his courageous remark. Seriously, what did she do to earn this man for herself.
After Zhao Haoran left for the kitchen downstairs, Long Xia found her way to the walk in closet. She wasn't even surprised anymore to see the design and size of it, but she was surprised to see that half of the closet contained every kind of clothes and shoes exactly her size. At the middle of the closet room, there was a large glass cabinet that contained all sorts of jewellery for her, neck ties,cufflinks and watches for her husband.
'Seems like this husband of mine had been preparing for a long time for me to become his wife.'

After a short shower, Long Xia headed downstairs for dinner. She found Zhao Haoran placing the last dish on the table and taking his apron off.
"Come, sit." He beckoned her.
After offering her a seat and pushing her in, Zhao Haoran sat opposite her and smiled at the way his wife was marvelling at the food he had prepared.
"Dig in, love." Long Xia didn't need to be told twice as she picked her customized chopsticks hurriedly, but with the grace of a proper lady, ready to devour the delicacy in front of her. After she placed a piece of steak in her mouth, she nearly moaned due to the bursting flavors exploding in her mouth.
"If you decide to open a restaurant one day, I will be your first customer. Your cooking is heavenly."
"Well, you are lucky to have me as your husband because you will be the only one enjoying my heavenly cooking."
"Really? You have never cooked for anyone before?"
"Apart from my family, you are the only one."
"About your family, when can we meet them?"
"Any time you want."
"How about a month from now. I want to familiarize myself with you first."
"Okay."
After dinner, Zhao Haoran brought her a slice of kladdkaka, a swedish type of chocolate cake, and handed her a fork.
"How did you know this is my favorite dessert?"
"It is? From now on , I will take keen notice on your favorite choice of everything." Truth be told, he already knew it was her favorite dessert.
"You don't have to."
" I want to."
After they shared the dessert, Long Xia sat on bed , phone in hand and exchanged a few messages with Yang Liu.
Zhao Haoran took a quick shower and came out of the walk in closet, sporting his silk pajamas and robe. He silently sat next to Long Xia on the bed with his MacBook on his lap. Long Xia glanced at his prominent side profile and debated on whether to ask the question that had been nagging her since they got married.
Sensing her gaze, he turned to her and patiently asked. "What is it?"
Long Xia was flustered having been caught staring but composed herself quickly.
"Ummm...It's our wedding night."
"It's okay, I know you are not ready as of now because we are yet to know each other better and I am willing to wait. However, I will be expecting a good morning and good night kiss from you, everyday." Having said those words, he bent down and kissed her lips softly. He then proceeded to kiss her forehead.
"Sleep well, love." He muttered as he covered her body with the quilt like the henpecked husband he was. Long Xia scooted closer to him and muttered a goodnight before dozing off to la la la land.
After an hour or so, Zhao Haoran shut off his laptop, placed it on the bedside table and hugged his wife close to him as he too, fell asleep.
