บท 84: Fear

Nicolas could soon hear the footsteps getting closer to the end of the back path where he was before.

Along the way there, there was a sudden halt of noises being created from the shoes of his pursuer slapping against the ground.

Nicolas did not dare to move or make a single noise.

He did not even dare to let out a single breath while his body stayed down low behind the gate.

He held his breath while he was much too afraid to take a look in the direction where his pursuer had stopped.

Adrenaline continued to flood his body and his anxiety kept rising with each passing moment that passed.

The silence and the uncertainty of it all caused Nicolas to feel even more anxiety and desperation.

It was like he was cornered with no way to find a means of escape.

All he could do was keep his presence as small as possible.

His pursuer still did not move on from where they stood as they looked around for any signs of him.
