Ginevra could've caught her phone in a snap, but she chose to let it hit the ground. The screen shattered right away, turning into a puzzle of cracks.

With a furious blush on her face, Ginevra bent down to retrieve it. 

It wasn't the ruined phone that got her hot under the collar. It was Alicia's sharp words that left her feeling small and ready to blow her top. But she held her temper in check. Years of working in the big leagues and moving up the corporate ladder taught her how to keep her cool.

A slight smirk flickered in her eyes. Pretending to be chill, Ginevra retorted, "Alicia, you're divorced. Until you tie the knot again, he's not your man anymore. Even if you guys hang out, it's no more than a random hookup."

Alicia just laughed. Seeing Ginevra drop her act was a breath of fresh air compared to the fake games they used to play. At least now, they could have a no-holds-barred showdown instead of swallowing their rage.
