บท 165: Nothing to Lose in Marrying Him

Chuck stood still by the bed, gazing at Alicia. He felt a strong urge to stay despite it being really late. He wasn't tired. Just quietly watching her made him feel content. 

"Buzz, buzz, buzz." 

His cell phone started vibrating all of a sudden. Fearing that the noise might disturb Alicia, Chuck quickly answered the call and left the bedroom.

Quietly shutting the door behind him, he headed to the balcony and said a quick "Hello."

His sister, Layla, was on the other end of the call.

"Hey, I just got back to the country, and you didn't even come to pick me up from the airport, let alone show your face."

Chuck replied in a soft voice, "I'm busy with something."

Annoyed, Layla snapped back, "Are you on a business trip? That's even worse! You knew I was coming and you still left, you don't care about your sister at all."

"No, it's personal stuff."
