บท 129: Carrying the Weight of a Lifetime

Alicia was shocked, caught off guard by his words.

After a short pause, she replied, avoiding the question, "Don't forget to close the windows and use a blanket at night. Eat breakfast on time. You have a sensitive stomach, so don't drink without eating when you're with friends."

Louis felt a coldness in his heart, knowing that she was brushing him away.

He laughed sadly at himself.

When he first mentioned divorce, it was a test to see if Alicia really loved him.

When she talked about it, however, it was serious. Alicia might seem sweet and easy to please, but once she made up her mind, nothing can change it.

Trying to sound calm, Louis said, "Take care of yourself, too. Wear a few more layers in case you get cold."

"Thank you."

Alicia's polite distance made Louis uneasy. Hanging up, he threw his phone on the nightstand.
