Madelyn felt on edge, the word "worker" striking a nerve. She squirmed in her seat, as if it were covered in thumbtacks. But her anxiety was short-lived, and she quickly collected herself.
Her father had bribed the worker, ensuring his silence, so he wouldn't dare expose their scheme. Only a select few were aware of the situation, and Louis couldn't possibly be one of them.
"It's got to be a coincidence," Madelyn repeated to herself.
She continually reassured herself, convinced everything would be fine and she was just overanalyzing the situation.
Louis wrapped up his call with his assistant and set his phone on the table.
Henry glanced at him, puzzled, and inquired, "What do you need a worker for?"
With a poker face, Louis picked up his chopsticks and served Alicia some food. He casually replied, "You'll see soon enough."
Henry smirked and muttered, "You sly dog, holding out on me."
