He was roughly forced to sit down across from her by the guard who brought him in. As he did so, the handcuffs on holding his hands together forcefully jingled like a dozen metallic bracelets being banged together. 

"Take the handcuffs off." She told the guard.

The guard looked at her with disdain and answered, "Ma'am, this prison is home to thousands of the most dangerous criminals in this empire, prisoner 10082 inclusive. As long as he is out of his cell, the handcuffs stay on."
