บท 136: In My Corner

There was some confusion for a while.

Ash and I were some of the first to make it to the royal dining room and adjoining sitting room, though there were guards posted both outside the doors, and at each corner of the room.

Ash ushered me to one of the comfortable chairs in the sitting room and insisted I stay there, him at my side, while we watched for the others.

Couple by couple, they slowly straggled in. I gathered that Stark had split us all up into different rooms for David to find and greet each Select with a minimum of others present, and my heart swelled that he hadn't made me go to one of the rooms with the others.

I was also wary of keeping my mouth shut and letting them all assume I'd just been in a room different than their own.
